Puppy battered so severely that it had to be put down in act of ‘deliberate cruelty’

A dog owner who abused his puppy so severely that she had to be put down has been jailed.

Jerome Lothian left his crossbreed bulldog, named Mula, with multiple broken bones after severely beating her. The pooch also had features to her leg, pelvis and spine after a two month ordeal of abuse from her owner.

A court heard that the thug tried to blame the injuries on falling from a sofa and a step before experts deduced that she had suffered “severe blunt force trauma”.

It is understood that the PDSA animal charity contacted the RSPCA following concerns that Mula had an array injuries over just a few months, without a reasonable explanation.

The young pooch had old fractures that had not been treated, plus a new fracture in her hind leg.

She was struggling to walk on her back legs and was bleeding from her nostrils, as well as having wounds to her mouth and tongue.

The vet felt the extent of Mula’s injuries, even with extensive treatment, meant that she would be left in chronic pain and felt the kindest option was to put her to sleep to end her suffering.

Lothian’s partner, Danielle Toni O’Brien, was also on trial for her involvement with what happened to Mula.

Magistrates heard that O’Brien refused to allow Mula to be euthanised, resulting in police being called.

Helen Mead, an inspector with the RSPCA, sat with the helpless puppy as they waited for police.

She said the dog barely moved, but after some time Mula used her front legs to shift herself forward for a tummy rub and rested her head in the officer’s hands.

Neither Lothian or O’Brian could give reasonable explanations as to how most of the injuries happened and there were a number of discrepancies between their stories.

Vets concluded that Mula was made to suffer as a result of physical abuse whilst Lothian was responsible for her.

The court concluded that the pair failed to provide vet care for the young puppy, allowing her to suffer.

Lothian was found guilty of causing unnecessary suffering to the puppy and other animal welfare offences at Nottingham Magistrates Court.

On July 7, he was jailed for 16 weeks and banned from keeping animals for life.

The 28-year-old, of Carlton, Nottinghamshire, was also order to pay £2,000 costs and a £120 victim surcharge.

O’Brien, of Nottingham, was sentenced to a 12-month community order with 20 rehabilitation requirement days and a deprivation order relating to another dog she owns was issued.

The 31-year-old was also ordered to pay £2,000 costs and a £85 victim surcharge.

Nottingham paedophile shared abuse images of young boys with like-minded pervert

This Nottingham paedophile shared vile abuse pictures of young boys with a like-minded pervert who replied to one message by saying “wow that one is not even legal”.

Police found almost 1,000 similar sick images and internet search terms when the raided the Forest Fields home of Graham Davies and seized his electronic devices

And some of the disgusting material he had downloaded showed boys as young as three being sexually abused by adult males.

Handing the 40-year-old a 16-month jail sentence, suspended for 18 months, Judge James Sampson said: “There are victims here.

“Every child involved in this sort of activity is a victim, they are a real person being abused by an adult.

“And participation by viewing this material is participation in the abuse of these children.

“Over some time you were involved in the downloading and distribution of these illegal pornographic images of children.

“And distribution of this sort of material inevitably means a custodial sentence must be imposed.”

Andrew Howarth, prosecuting, said police executed a warrant as Davies’ home in Wiverton Road on December 13 last year.

He said they had received intelligence an internet address linked to the defendant had been downloading the horrific images and movies.

Mr Howarth said they found 242 of the most serious category A images and films which typically show adults and young children involved in full sexual activity.

He said there were a 193 category B and 560 category C.

Mr Howarth described what was on some of the images which are too graphic for publication.

He said: “They were all of boys aged three to 16 and he shared a small number with a friend over WhatsApp.

“His friend replied to one images saying ‘wow that last one is not even legal, haha’ to which the defendant replied back ‘Lol, he is kind of baby-faced.

“When he was interviewed by the police he said he started looking at pornography and found himself going down what he called ‘a rabbit hole’.”

Davies pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children and three counts of distribution of them.

As part of the suspended sentence Judge Sampson ordered Davies to attend 25 rehabilitation sessions and pay £425 costs.

He placed him on the sex offender register for five years and handed him a five-year sexual harm prevention order.

Twisted graphic designer who terrorised six females online found guilty

A graphic designer has been found guilty of terrorising six females in a harrowing campaign of online abuse.

Shaquille Williams, aged 25, blackmailed one victim by threatening to send private sexual photographs of her to her family and friends.

The 25-year-old vowed to – unless she sent him more images which he tried to direct.

The victim had already been targeted by sadistic blackmailer and paedophile Abdul Hasib Elahi, 26.

Elahi is currently awaiting sentencing after admitting sickening online offences in a separate National Crime Agency investigation.

Abdul Hasib Elahi, 26, admitted a total of 158 offences.

  • blackmailed worldwide victims to horrifically abuse themselves, siblings and children;

  • sold the footage as ‘box sets’ to other offenders;

  • provided ‘master classes’ on the encrypted Telegram app to help paedophiles avoid detection;

  • and his victims were as young as eight months old.

He singled out victims who were in debt or too young to legitimately be on the sites and tricked them into sending him naked or partially clothed images of themselves. He also targeted some victims on social media.

He promised payment of thousands of pounds for posed images and sent fake screenshots of money leaving his account in similar transactions to convince victims.

Elahi, of Sparkhill, Birmingham, masqueraded as a businessman or stockbroker on sugar daddy websites and conned victims into sending him sexual images of themselves.

He then blackmailed them into filming themselves performing increasingly degrading acts and sending him the footage.

Elahi posted the footage online where Williams, of Hartness Road, Clifton, Nottingham, acquired some of it.

Today, at Nottingham Crown Court, a jury found Williams guilty of blackmailing the victim between 10 January 2019 and 10 May 2019.

The jury also convicted him of three counts of harassing three women and putting them in fear of violence between 18 April 2019 and 21 May 2019.

Williams was also found guilty of two counts of sending grossly offensive messages to two other women.

Using various social media accounts, university graduate Williams sent the women horrendous abuse including pictures of acid attack victims.

One victim received messages including the name of her home town, a picture of hydrochloric acid and a message featuring her road name.

Williams will be sentenced on 18 August.

Another defendant, Kirsty Nicholls, 35, from Middlesex, who knew Elahi from a sugar daddy website, had previously pleaded guilty to two charges of sexual assault of a child and one of making an indecent photo.

Elahi and Nicholls will be sentenced on September 9 and 10 at Birmingham Crown Court.

Paedophile who targeted Lincolnshire children pulled knife on police

A paedophile who turned up at a railway station expecting to meet a woman for sex arrived to find police waiting for him, Lincoln Crown Court was told today (Friday, June 25).

James Rippington pulled out a knife when officers approached him at Grimsby Railway Station and then after he was detained he was again aggressive.

Ian Way, prosecuting, said Rippington had been tracked by two different groups of paedophile hunters as a result of his activities online.

A member of one of the groups called ‘Catching online Predators (COP) posed as a 20 year old woman and successfully managed to obtain Rippington’s true identity.

She set up a meeting with Rippington and arranged for police to be there.

Mr Way said: “She alerted the police to be at the scene to effect his arrest.

“The arrangement was made to meet at Grimsby Railway Station on 27 January 2019. The defendant was led to believe this would be a liaison where they would have sex.

“At 20 to six a number of police officers attended Grimsby Railway Station and saw the defendant standing near to a pub. He was followed and approached and produced a knife.

“He was told to let the knife go. He did and was detained. He was not compliant, shouting at officers saying they had ruined his life. He said he wished he had stabbed them when he had the chance. He was arrested and was spitting at officers as he was taken to the van.”

Mr Way said that earlier in the month Rippington had contacted a nine year old girl from Louth over Instagram claiming he was a 12 year old called Tom who lived in Lincoln.

He asked her to send him indecent photos of herself but she showed his messages to her mother and police were contacted.

As police were investigating, Rippington also attracted the attention of a group of paedophile hunters.

One of the group set up a decoy account claiming to be a 14 year old girl and was contacted by Rippington. This time he claimed to be 13. He again asked for her to send indecent photos.

As a result a different group of paedophile hunters were involved with one of their members posing as a 20 year old woman from Scunthorpe in an effort to identify Rippington.

Mr Way said that following his arrest Rippington’s mobile phone was checked and police found 94 indecent images of children on it.

When Rippington was interviewed he denied he had any sexual interest in children.

Rippington, 28, formerly of Grimsby but now of George Street, Mansfield, admitted offences of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity and two charges of possession of indecent images of a child.

The offences all occurred in January 2019. He was jailed for 43 months. He was placed on the sex offenders register for life and given an indefinite sexual harm prevention order.

He was dealt with at an earlier hearing by Humber Magistrates for possession of a bladed article and two charges of assaulting an emergency worker as a result of the incident surrounding his arrest. He received a suspended jail sentence on January 29, 2019 for those matters.

Judge Catarina Sjolin Knight told him: “You denied any sexual motivation or any sexual interest in children. That is fighting reality.”

Jail for Arnold man, 46, found with more than 40,000 sex abuse images

A man from Arnold who amassed a collection of more than 400,000 child sexual abuse images has been jailed.

Scot Fox, 46, was arrested when police uncovered evidence linking him to the online purchase of indecent material.

An investigation was started and Fox was arrested at this home address in September last year.

Officers seized a number of electronic devices and later uncovered a total of 402,017 photographs and videos – mainly stored on a single computer.

More than 7,500 of those images were rated as category A, depicting the most serious acts of sexual abuse that can be committed against children.

Fox, of Catlow Walk, immediately admitted his offending to officers and said he’d been collecting the images for around 20 years.

He later pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children. The charges relate to the act of saving and storing the material.

Appearing at Nottingham Crown Court on Thursday he was jailed for two years. In addition he was added to the Sex Offenders’ Register for ten years, and also made the subject of a sexual harm prevention order that will tightly restrict his on-line activity when he is released from jail.
