Worksop paedophile fantasised online with another sex using forbidden laptop

A Worksop paedophile fantasised about performing sexual acts on children with another convicted sex offender using a laptop he was forbidden from owning

Keannu Rouse was banned from accessing the internet without police supervision when he was jailed for sexually assaulting two underage boys and child porn offences, in August 2016.

Prosecutor Lauren Pitman described how Rouse failed to tell officers about a laptop he possessed when they interviewed him on May 28, last year.

In fact he installed the gay social media app Grindr 24 times, between May 11 and 30, in breach of the Sexual Harm Prevention Order imposed by the court.

Rouse’s “sexualised chat” with someone he met on the app, who is also a sex offender, prompted the other man to raise the alarm.

Officers from the Sexual or Violent Offender Manager (MOSOVO) unit confronted Rouse at his home and arrested him on suspicion of facilitating a sexual offence on June 7.

But they found he had deleted the app after using it, so there was no record of the conversations he had.

He later admitted talking to the other man while his partner was at work, while using adult pornography, as “a way of getting off.”

But Rouse said what they talked about “was never going to happen,” and claimed he was no longer physically interested in children.

Digby Johnson, mitigating, said Rouse was released from his 33 month prison sentence in November 2017.

“On the face of it he has done very well in terms of engaging with the probation service,” he said.

“But in the early summer of 2020 he decided he was going to push the boundaries and behaved in a way that was not just inappropriate but frightening.

“It does seem to be an aberration of sorts. In a sense he burns himself three times – by committing the offence, by covering it up and then by being so frank with police officers.

“He got carried away. And it came to light very quickly. That’s the best indication to him that the only way he can stay safe is to stay within the boundaries.”

Rouse, 26, of Colsterdale, Worksop, pleaded guilty to breaching the Sexual Harm Prevention Order, on March 5.

On Friday, Judge Stuart Rafferty QC told him: “It’s clear from these proceedings that you did not learn your lesson.

“People who abuse children are among the worst offenders there are. Children deserve a chance to be happy.

“I find it extraordinary you had the gall to tell the probation officer you were feeling sad and isolated at the time.”

Rouse received 18 months, suspended for two years, with a two year community order that includes 40 days of rehabilitation activities and attendance on a programme for sex offenders.

The judge added: “Police will no doubt be keeping a closer eye on you. You will be made to confront yourself and the person you really are.

“It is sometimes said, once a paedophile always a paedophile. We will find out.”

Depraved sexual predator, 58, who abused three girls is jailed for 22 years

A manipulative sexual predator who abused three girls over four decades was finally brought to justice after sending an explicit image of himself to a schoolgirl.

Russell Yeomans, 58, of Wilford, Nottingham sent the image to the child in 2019, setting in place a chain of events that would eventually see him jailed for 22 years.

After the image was discovered on the victim’s phone she was encouraged to speak to support staff at her school.

She then revealed several incidents of sexual abuse that had happened at an address in Nottinghamshire.

Detectives opened an investigation and later received additional complaints from two further victims who had learned about the investigation.

The women, now adults, explained Yeomans had abused them in the 1970s and 80s.

One of the victims disclosed a pattern of sexual abuse that started when she was just seven years old and ended with three incidents of rape when she was a teenager.

Yeomans, of Monks Way, Wilford, refused to comment in his first police interview and denied all the allegations against him.

He later admitted to sending the explicit image to the girl and pleaded guilty to one count of causing a child to watch / look at an image of sexual activity, and one count of inciting a girl under 16 to engage in sexual activity.

After a two-week trial at Nottingham Crown Court he was convicted by a jury of a total of 14 offences – two sexual assault of a child under 13, eight indecent assaults on a child under 14, three rapes and one act of gross indecency with a child under 14.

Appearing for sentence on Friday 14 May Yeomans was jailed for 22 years.

He will also have to serve a further five years on licence when he is released.

Mansfield dad shared sick child abuse images on Facebook

A Mansfield dad who shared sick child abuse images on Facebook has been warned he faces prison if he offends again.

Police received information about the offence in late 2018, and executed a warrant at Stephen Pegg’s home in Warsop, on June 11, 2019, Nottingham Crown Court heard on Wednesday.

Between February 2013 and June 2019, he downloaded 46 still images and 117 videos that were rated as Category A, 37 stills and 43 videos at Category B, and 25 stills and six videos at Category C, where “A” is the most extreme.

Prosecutor Esther Harrison said most of the Category A images showed boys aged 12-14, and that images from all categories were sent to nine other users over a six month period.

When he was interviewed by police, Pegg claimed he “sent the videos because he had been asked to, and they had sent videos back.”

“He said he didn’t think it was illegal if it was shared outside the UK,” Ms Harrison said.

The court heard Pegg, who has learning difficulties, had been warned by Facebook. He told officers it was “disgraceful” and that he regretted it.

Pegg, 52, of Wellington Close, Warsop, pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images, three counts of distribution and one count of possessing an extreme pornographic image.

Judge Stuart Rafferty QC told Paul Wright, mitigating: “He deserves to go to prison for any number of reasons, but given his difficulties I will suspend it.”

He told Pegg: “It doesn’t take much thought by anybody to realise that children who are seen in pornographic videos don’t want to be doing it.

“People are off camera waiting to batter them if they don’t pretend to be happy. Sadly their lives are damaged.

“People like you are simply making them more unhappy and taking their dignity away from them.”

The judge sentenced him to 12 months in prison, suspended for two years, with a two-year community order and 60 rehabilitation days.

A five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order was imposed, and his computers were forfeited and destroyed.

“Take the help that is going to be given to you and stay out of trouble,” the judge told Pegg.

Nottinghamshire man jailed for 30 years after multiple rapes of teenage girl

A convicted paedophile who controlled and raped a schoolgirl multiple times, including on his wedding night, has been locked up for 30 years.

The court heard of the historic abuse a girl suffered at the hands of Jason Guzikowski, which started when she was just 13 years old and who preyed on her vulnerability. The first rape happened in 1997 and throughout the next two years, multiple rapes followed.

Contact stopped when the victim was 15, and both moved to different areas of the country.

But by 2012, Guzikowski was back in contact with the victim and he continued his abuse.

The trail of historic abuse was reported to Nottinghamshire Police in 2019, and today (Wednesday 28 April 2021), 51-year-old Guzikowski,  of Vale Road, Mansfield Woodhouse, was handed a 30-year sentence at Nottingham Crown Court after being found guilty of eight counts of rape.

Guzikowski had previously served a four-and-a-half year sentence for sexual offences committed against children and adults.

Man sentenced after 12,500 child sex abuse images discovered by police

A sex offender was found in possession of a cache of child sexual abuse images after police became aware of his illegal online activates.

Detectives from Nottinghamshire Police arrested Glyn Kirk, 38, at his home on the morning of 11 March 2020.

Officers from the force’s paedophile online investigation (POLIT) team had been alerted to suspicious activity on Kirk’s IP address – a unique identity tag attached to users’ home internet networks.

After seizing and searching various electronic devices they unearthed a cache of images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of children.

More than 12,500 items were found spread across a laptop and external hard drive. A total of 190 of those were classed as category A – depicting the most serious sexual abuse that can be committed by adults against children.

When he was first interviewed by detectives Kirk claimed that his IP address had been used by somebody else, but later admitted to three counts of making an indecent image of a child. The charge relates to the act of saving and storing images in his collection.

Appearing at Nottingham Crown Court on Wednesday Kirk, of Sneinton, Nottingham, was sentenced to ten months in jail suspended for two years.

He was also made the subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order that will tightly restrict his behavior for a period of ten years. In addition he was ordered to pay £450 in costs, a £140 victim surcharge, and complete a 35 day rehabilitation requirement programme.
