Sex offender caught with extreme pornography

A sex offender caught with extreme pornography has avoided jail.

Casey Shaw claimed he did not get any sexual gratification from videos involving animals found on his phone.

The 28-year-old claimed they were “funny and a joke” and didn’t realise they were illegal.

Appearing at Southampton Crown Court he was charged with three counts of possessing extreme pornographic images.

He was also charged with breaching a sexual harm prevention order by deleting his phone internet history.

He pleaded guilty to the offences which happened between May and June 2019, and June 4 last year in Southampton.

Shaw of Landsdowne Road, Aylesbury was given an 18-month community order to include 100 hours of unpaid work and 30 rehabilitation activity days.

Teacher jailed for sex with schoolboy

A married teacher who groomed a 15-year-old boy through Snapchat and had sex with him has been sentenced to six years and two months in prison.

Kandice Barber, 35, of Wendover, Buckinghamshire, had been found guilty of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

She was found not guilty of two further counts of the same offence at a trial in January.

Recorder Bal Dhaliwal said Barber was “beyond despicable”.

The court heard the teacher added herself to the victim’s Snapchat account in September 2018, exchanging messages with the boy which became sexual within a week.

The judge, sentencing at Aylesbury Crown Court, described how Barber sent the victim pictures “including a topless image” and a live video of a sexual act.

“All of these acts are tantamount to you grooming him and pulling him in, and with significant planning on your part.”

The court heard Barber later asked the boy to meet her, going to a private field and having sex with him.

The judge said: “There is no doubt in my mind that you acted in gross breach of trust.

“You took advantage of a child in your care and groomed him for your own sexual gratification.”

Barber later told the boy to delete all messages and block her on Snapchat to stop evidence being found, the court heard.

“You remained determined to silence him in whatever way you could,” the judge said.

Barber had to be tried for a second time after a first trial was unable to reach verdicts on three charges.

In a statement from the victim, read by prosecutor David Povall, he said the stress and anxiety of the trials had caused “poorer-than-expected GCSE results”.

This led the victim “to leave the good school he was attending and go to a sixth-form college where none of his friends were”.

Mr Povall said: “In summary, [the victim] says that the defendant … who was supposed to help students make the right decisions instead helped him to make all the wrong decisions.”

Barber was also handed a 16-month sentence for causing a child under 16 to watch sexual activity by a person in breach of trust and a further 10-month sentence for sexual communication, to be served concurrently with her main sentence.

She will be required to notify police of her personal details and address for the rest of her life, as well as being barred from working with children and vulnerable adults, and being subject to a lifelong sexual harm prevention order.

Rapist was just 13 when he started abusing a child

A former RAF man who subjected two children to years of “disturbing and outrageous” sexual abuse has been jailed after he was found guilty of nine counts of rape of a child under 13

Ian Crawford’s two victims waited half a century for justice, but have now seen the rapist put behind bars for 20 years.

Crawford, 76, was just 13-years-old when he first raped a nine-year-old girl.

That campaign of abuse went on for years and only came to light decades later when the victim was in her 60s.

Crawford’s second victim was ten-years-old when the paedophile began sexually assaulting her.

He raped the child “repeatedly” over several years before leaving Trafford and never having contact with her again.

Crawford – who continues to deny all offences – was found guilty of nine separate counts of rape of a child at Manchester’s Minshull Street Crown Court.

He was sentenced to six years in prison for the counts concerning victim one, to be served consecutively to 14 years for the counts involving victim two – totalling 20 years, with an extended license period of one year concurrent for each count.

Minshull Street Crown Court heard how Crawford, of Deeds Grove, High Wycombe, subjected both girls to years of sexual abuse.

His offending spanned several years between the 1950s, 60s and 70s.

His first victim was sexually abused by Crawford for years before he first raped her, when she was just nine-years-old and he was 13.

The victim described to the jury how the offending went on despite her extreme upset and visible distress, police say.

It was only when Crawford left Greater Manchester to join the RAF that the girl stopped being regularly raped by him.

When Crawford moved back to Trafford in the 1960s, he began sexually assaulting his second victim – then aged 10.

She was raped repeatedly over several years before Crawford left the area and never had any contact with her again.

Police became aware of Crawford’s offending in 2018, when the first victim heard a radio advert for a support programme for victims of sexual abuse called the ‘Truth Project’.

She disclosed her horrendous ordeals to the project and GMP launched an investigation.

Crawford was first interviewed in July 2018 and denied all allegations.

Later that summer the second victim came forward to speak of the traumatic experiences she had been subjected to by Crawford.

After she gave her account to detectives, Crawford was arrested once again.

He gave a no comment interview.

Crawford was charged in 2019 and denied all offences.

His case was delayed due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

But he was found guilty on November 30 of nine counts of rape of a child under 13.

Man jailed for terrorism offences is further sentenced for indecent images

A man currently in prison for committing right-wing-related terrorism offences has been further sentenced for indecent and extreme image crimes, after officers discovered some of the most serious types of sexual abuse images on his phone.

Yesterday, (Wednesday, 23 July) Jacek Tchorzewski, 19 (17.11.00), a Polish national, who was staying in Buckinghamshire before he was jailed last year, was sentenced to eight months’ imprisonment to run concurrent with his four-year sentence for terrorism offences.

He is also subject to a deportation order, meaning after he has served his sentence he will be deported from the UK.

Officers from the Eastern Region Specialist Operation Unit Counter Terrorism Policing (ERSOU CTP) stopped Tchorzewski at Luton Airport on Wednesday, 20 February 2019, before he could board a flight to Poland.

Using powers under Schedule 7 of the Terrorism Act 2000, they searched him and seized his mobile phone.

Examination of his phone and other digital devices revealed Tchorzewski had collated a number of documents that were in breach of the Terrorism Act 2000 as well as indecent images.

The Met Police Counter Terrorism launched two investigations into Tchorzewski, supported by ERSOU CTP.

The investigation into terrorist material identified Tchorzewski had amassed a plethora of guides on terrorism, bomb making and gun production. Tchorzewski had downloaded an array of right-wing material which praised Hitler, neo-Nazism and Satanism. The documents featured anti-Semitic sentiments and even called for genocide.

He pleaded guilty to 10 counts of counts of possession of information likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism, contrary to section 58, at the Old Bailey on 21 June 2019. He was sentenced to four years’ imprisonment on 20 September.

On 18 March 2020 he was charged with three counts of possession of an indecent photograph of a child/pseudo-photograph of a child, contrary to section 160(1), (2A) and (3) of the Criminal Justice Act 1988, and one count of possession of extreme pornographic image/images, contrary to sections 63(1), (7)(c) and 67(3) of the Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2008.

Four of the images were classified Category A – the most serious type – and a further eight were classified Category B and C.

Tchorzewski pleaded guilty to these charges on 08 June 2020 and was sentenced yesterday at Harrow Crown Court.
