Paedophile lured girls to his house with promise of meeting his kittens
A paedophile took his clothes off in front of two young girls who had come to see his kittens, a court heard.
Bernard Brown, 69, told police one of the girls, aged six, had asked him to remove his pants and had then touched him.
At Bolton Crown Court, Roger Brown, prosecuting, said the offences came to light after one of the girls told a teacher she had “gone to a man’s house to see his kittens and he took his clothes off”.
Police became involved and visited Brown at his home in Ena Crescent, Leigh, where they seized of mobile phones and a camera.
Interviewed later, Brown said he had been very drunk when the two girls, who had been playing in his living room, locked him in the kitchen.
After managing to escape he had gone into the living room where the six-year-old had asked him to take his top and underwear off.
He admitted he had been naked in front of the two girls and one of them had touched him intimately.
The prosecutor added: “He went on to say he had concerns about how children had were provided with sex education and that was the reason why he had in his possession two books of a sexual nature.”
Officers found four indecent images on the camera and Brown told them the girls had been taking pictures of themselves while they were alone.
Passing sentence on Brown, who pleaded guilty to possessing indecent photographs of children and causing or inciting a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity, Recorder Ciaran Rankin said he felt “constraints” put on the pensioner could allow him from drawing back from a prison sentence.
“These young girls were in your front room undoubtedly having been induced to visit you because of the kittens and that is of concern,” he said.
“Worryingly you have suggested that they took the lead with these offences.
“The pre-sentence report has concerns about your attitude towards young children, not least because of the literature that was found in your house and while you have not been charged with grooming, the use of these pets could be considered by some as grooming.”
He imposed a 36-month community order with a requirement to complete 60 days of a rehabilitation activity requirement.
“In my view this is a package that will ensure you will get the required professional advice and direction you need to overcome issues that may be lurking in the background,” he added.
Grandad raped girl, 13, in back of his van and told her ‘not to be shy’
A twisted paedophile repeatedly raped a 13-year-old girl after grooming her and trapping her in his van.
Gary Healey, 61, from Tyldesley in Greater Manchester, attacked his victim five or six times over the course of a year.
The grandad first tried to kiss the girl when she was just 11 – before taking her home to her aunt and uncle
Prosecuting, Charlotte Johnson told Manchester Crown Court: “As time went on that progressed and moved from kissing her to holding onto her head whilst he kissed her on the mouth until when she was about 12 and at that stage he told her to get into the rear of the van – she was frightened and obliged.”
Healey ordered the girl to sit on a box in the back of the van before removing his trousers and underpants, it was said.
He then told her to stand up and take off her pants and said if she didn’t “he would do it for her”.
The girl was “silent, scared and feeling sick” as he touched her chest.
Healey then raped his victim and “told her she liked it” and “not to be shy”.
After the girl turned 14, Healey tried to sexually assault her but she resisted.
When he asked her to carry on, she said no and he told her: “Well, you like it”.
He continued to pester her, saying: “You won’t even let me kiss you on the cheek, I love you to pieces, I’ll never hurt you.”
The horrifying offences came to light after the girl discussed them with her friends.
Healey was convicted of sexual assault and rape and jailed for 14 years, and must serve nine years and four months before he can be released on licence.
He was also made subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for 15 years and must sign onto the Sex Offender’s Register indefinitely.
Sentencing him, Judge Rachel Smith said: “During the trial, the court was played a recording of you and the true nature in which you spoke to her. You were domineering and coercive.
Pervert deleted internet history ‘so wife wouldn’t know he was viewing porn’
A paedophile claimed he illegally deleted the internet history on his laptop and phone because he did not want his wife to discover he had been viewing adult porn.
In 2016 businessman Andrew Matthews was given a suspended prison sentence and made subject to a sexual harm prevention order which included a ban on removing the browsing history from internet-enabled devices.
He had pleaded guilty to downloading several indecent explicit images of children.
But Bolton Crown Court heard how, when police from the from the sex offender management unit made a routine visit to his Beechcroft Drive, Breightmet, home on October 6 last year they discovered that 59-year-old Matthews had deleted the the browsing history from an iPhone 10 and an Apple Macbook.
Eleanor Gleeson, prosecuting, said Matthews claimed he was about to sell the iPhone and so had wiped its history.
A Macbook, which Matthews said he had bought a week earlier, had also had its history removed.
Matthews admitted breaching the terms of his sexual harm prevention order when interviewed by police.
“The defendant stated that he had viewed pornography on his laptop. He deleted the internet history so his wife could not see what he had been looking at online,” said Miss Gleeson.
“The defendant admitted that he was aware of the sexual harm prevention order and ignored the rules about deleting the history.”
Matthews was ordered to undertake 150 hours of unpaid work, must participate in 25 days of rehabilitation activities and pay £340 towards prosecution costs.
Paedophile jailed for 10 years after inciting children to engage in online sexual activity
A paedophile who persuaded two underage brothers to have sex while he filmed them over the internet has been jailed for 10 years.
Thomas Morton, of Percy Street, Bury, targeted young boys across the UK and America, often posing online as an attractive teenage girl before encouraging them to send him images or perform sexual acts which he filmed.
Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court heard how Morton, 34, was part of a group of fellow paedophiles who would share the images and videos between them and offer advice to each other on how not to get caught.
Ben Lawrence, prosecuting, said Morton had appeared at Bolton Crown Court in 2013 after downloading more than 4,000 pornographic images of children but was handed a suspended sentence after probation services said he “did not provide a direct risk to children under 18”.
He was found to have broken the terms of a Sexual Offences Prevention Order in 2016 when police officers seized his laptop containing over 1,000 indecent images of children.
Four years later, a total of 6,032 images – including 623 in the most severe category A – were found on Morton’s devices after officers from GMP’s Sexual Crime Unit executed a search warrant at his address on Tuesday, March 3 2020 following information that indecent images had been distributed at an address linked to Morton.
These images consisted of victims who Morton had been in direct contact with via his social media alias, and of other widely-shared images of children which he had received from other like-minded individuals.
One of the devices was a Samsung Galaxy phone which appeared as though there had been an attempt to snap the device in half prior to the police gaining entry.
The sheer extent of Morton’s offending quickly became clear to investigators as substantial amounts of evidence repeatedly showed him befriending boys online with a view to grooming them for sexual gratification.
Morton also had multiple social media accounts a number of which were under the name of a 13-year-old girl and used a profile picture of a teenage girl taken from her Facebook profile.
Mr Lawrence described how Morton would use this persona to contact teenage boys and “encourage them to perform sexual acts”.
“He made them believe they were communicating with an attractive teenage girl who was interested in them sexually and with whom they were exchanging sexual images on a private basis,” said Mr Lawrence.
Morton had installed software enabling him to record the children performing sexual acts and would distributed these images to like-minded paedophiles.
“Evidence showed the group discussed targets and the sort of images they would like to obtain or the sort of sexual behaviour they would like victims to participate in,” said Mr Lawrence.
Police identified 14 of the victims – aged between eight and 15 at the time of the offences – from across the UK and USA.
Between November 2019 and February 2020, Morton began communicating with two teenage brothers in the USA and encouraged them to have sex with each other which he recorded.
Another boy who was targeted was just eight-years-old with Morton persuading him to send ten images of himself which were distributed around the group.
Morton was later charged with 21 child sex offences and admitted each count at Manchester Crown Court on Thursday, February 4 2021, as well as three separate counts of making indecent images and breaching his sexual harm prevention order.
Passing sentence, Recorder Geoffrey Payne described Morton as a “prolific and predatory sexual offender.”
“You are undoubtedly dangerous and have a record of offending that shows you seek your own gratification at the expense of young, vulnerable people,” he said.
“Your activities were calculated an devious and systematically targeted young people which you have done in the teeth of court orders.”
Morton was sentenced to 16 years – 10 of which will be spent behind bars and six on licence – and ordered to sign the sex offender’s register.
Man told undercover cop posing as 12-year-old girl they could meet before lockdown ended as ‘not as many people would see them’
An already convicted paedophile told an undercover police officer posing as a 12-year-old girl that they could meet up before lockdown ended as ‘not as many people would see them’.
Craig Prestage, 45, began chatting with the girl known as ‘Becca’ online, where he initially asked what she looked like and sent her ‘kiss’ emojis.
He then suggested they move onto Kik where the conversation turned sexual, Minshull Street Crown Court heard.
Prestage, of Oldham, asked the girl for a nude photograph, then suggested meeting up before lockdown ended.
He said they could do this as ‘not as many people would see them’.
He went on to suggest the girl performed a sexual act on herself and said they ‘wouldn’t need to have sex right away’.
Once he was arrested, officers later found indecent images of children on his mobile phone, along with internet searches suggesting that he’d attempted to wipe his web history.
Prestage pleaded guilty to offences of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child, attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity and making indecent photos.
He was today (July 5) jailed for seven years and three months.
Prosecutor David Lees told the court that on March 9 this year, Prestage began chatting with a 12-year-old known as ‘Becca’ over the website ‘ChatAvenue’ using the moniker ‘Fun13’.
What he didn’t realise was that ‘Becca’ was a police officer acting undercover.
“The website requires users to confirm they are between 13 and 19,” Mr Lees said.
“He stated from the outset that he was 45 and from Manchester and asked ‘Becca’ a few questions about herself, and she stated she was 12.
“He sent messages containing the ‘kisses’ emoji and ‘big kiss’ and said they could be friends.
“He gave a description of himself and asked what she looked like and said he would like to see her if he could.”
Prestage went on to ask for the girl’s email address and asked her to send him a picture of herself before suggesting they move the conversation onto Kik.
Using the username ‘CraigPres’ he continued speaking with the girl, the court heard.
He sent her a picture of himself in a leather chair, which was later discovered when he was arrested.
‘Becca’ sent Prestage a photo, later found to be a stock photo, to which he told her it was ‘really cute’ and said: “If I was your age I’d like to have you as my gf”.
“He said he was too old for her, then asked if she had done anything with a boy, the suggestion of sexual activity,” Mr Lees continued.
“When told what that was, he said: “Would you want to do that with me,” then suggested they should meet up once lockdown was over.
“He also asked: “If you don’t mind me asking, do you have a nude photograph?”
The prosecutor added that Prestage asked the girl to perform a sexual activity on herself, then suggested meeting up just before lockdown ended as ‘not as many people would see them’.
He also said that they ‘wouldn’t have to have sex right away’.
On March 19 Prestage was arrested and interviewed by officers, but gave ‘no comment’ replies.
Following analysis of his mobile phone they found one category B image and eight category C images as well as internet searches suggesting that he had tried to wipe his web history.
Prestage was said to have eight previous convictions for 35 offences including attempting to incite a girl under 16 to engage in sexual activity and making indecent photos in 2014 for which he was handed a four-and-a-half year prison sentence.
