Pervert engaged in sex chat with what he thought was a 13-year-old

A pornography addict who engaged in sexual chat with what he thought was a child has walked free from court.

Kristopher Mulcock, described in court as “a religious man”, believed he was chatting to a 13-year-old girl called Holly online when he talked about sex acts and sent her genitals pictures.

Fortunately, it was not a real child, but a decoy profile being run by paedophile hunters from a group calling itself Parental Online Protection.

Newcastle Crown Court heard Mulcock has an addiction to pornography and sex and has spent $4,500 in Utah, in the US, for treatment.

Now the 48-year-old, of North Side, Stamfordham, Northumberland, has been given a community order after admitting three counts of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.

Richard Holland, prosecuting, said it was in July 2018 that Mulcock made contact with “Holly” on an internet chat room called Nearby and the offending spanned approximately two weeks.

He was immediately informed she was 13 but went on to tell her about an act he was committing on himself.

She said she was a child and didn’t understand what he meant so he described it and encouraged her to do things to herself.

She said she would get in trouble but he continued to tell her to do things.

He also sent pictures of his genitals, asked about her body development and requested indecent pictures of her.

Mr Holland said: “He was asked if he had engaged with girls under 16 before and he said he had done once before.”

Recorder Chris Smith sentenced Mulcock to a two year community order with £400 costs and he must sign the sex offenders register for five years.
