Pervert caught again by paedophile hunting team
A re-offending pervert has avoided a prison again after he was caught for a second time by a paedophile hunting team
The court was told that Shaun Wallace, 25 of Wallsend had contacted the online profile of who he believed was a 14 year old girl.
Initially Wallace was cautious and asked the girl to prove she was real by sending a voice note. She did, and Wallace began sending sexually explicit chat with the clear view of engaging the child into sexual activity.
Wallace arranged to meet the child, but when he turned up at the set location, he was met by members of paedophile hunting team ‘NoIncognito’
Wallace was told that the child did not exist and was instead a adult member of their team. The police were called and Wallace was arrested
Wallace received an 18 month sentence which was suspended for two years
The judge told Wallace that he must register as a sex offender for a period of 10 years and a sexual harm prevention order was also imposed for ten years
He is also required to complete 40 days of a rehabilitation program, spread over the suspended sentence period.
Shaun had previously been exposed by two other paedophile hunting teams – Unmasked Online and Geordie Chasers – back in May 2018.
In January 2019, he pleaded guilty to those charges but was also handed a suspended sentence.
