Pervert caught by paedophile hunting team ‘Creep Catchers UK’

A pervert has avoided a prison sentence after he groomed what he believed was a child online

Douglas Rutter, aged 57, of Firdale Walk appeared at Manchester Crown Court  where he pleaded guilty to three counts of engaging a child in sexual communication.

The court was told that Rutter had contacted the profile of who he believed was a young girl. He sent a string of sexual messages.

However, the profile belonged to online child protection team ‘Creep Catchers UK’ who handed their evidence into police. Rutter was arrested and later charged with grooming offences

Rutter was handed a 8 months imprisonment which was suspended for two years

He was told that he must register as a sex offender for 10 years
