Pervert, 23, who tried to meet girl in park is back in court after using alias on dating website

A sex offender who was caught by paedophile hunters trying to meet a girl for sex in a park has been back in court after he used an alias on a dating website.

Mohammed Majid also breached two court orders by deleting the search history from a phone and having bank cards which had not registered with the police.

Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court heard the 23-year-old was sentenced to a three-year rehabilitation order and made the subject of a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) in September after pleading guilty to attempting to meet a girl at Central Forest Park in Hanley following online grooming.

But within months he breached the SHPO and the terms of the sex offenders’ register.

Police searched his home and found he had an iPad, Playstation 4 and a mobile phone all capable of accessing the internet. But he had deleted the search history from the mobile phone which placed him in breach of the SHPO.

And he was in breach of the notification requirements of the sex offenders’ register because he had been on a dating website using a different name and he was in possession of two bank cards which had not been notified to the police.

Now Majid has been handed a 12-month community order with 40 hours unpaid work at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.

Prosecutor Denise Fitzpatrick said as part of the SHPO the defendant must not use any device capable of accessing the internet unless he notifies the police within three days of its acquisition.

She said police visited his home in October to make sure he understood the requirements of both orders.

But they seized his mobile during a routine visit to his home in January due to concerns he had deleted the internet history. Police searched his address on March 21.

Miss Fitzpatrick said: “He was found to have had possession of an iPad, Playstation 4 and a mobile capable of accessing the internet. The deleted search history from the mobile placed him in breach of the SHPO.

“He breached the sex offenders’ register by using a dating website under an alias name and by being in possession of two bank cards without notifying the police.”

Majid, of Nile Street, Burslem, pleaded guilty to failing to comply with the notification requirements of the sex offenders’ register and breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

Recorder Stephen Thomas told Majid: “You have to comply with the restrictions otherwise you will find yourself back in court. If there are any further breaches they will impose custodial sentences upon you.”

Majid was ordered to pay £100 costs.

Stoke-on-Trent paedophile sentenced for grooming child

A Stoke-on-Trent man has been given a three-year rehabilitation order, after pleading guilty to sexually grooming a child.

Pervert Majid Mohammed appeared at court today after he groomed an ‘underage girl’ before attempting to meet her at Hanley’s Central Forest Park.

But when the 23-year-old arrived, he was instead met by members of Creep Catchers UK.

Video footage of the confrontation was then uploaded on to social media later that day.

Mohammed, of Nile Street, Burslem, could be seen sitting on the grass with his head in his hands.

Police officers later arrested and charged him with attempting to meet a girl under 16 years of age following online grooming.

The defendant went on to plead guilty to the offence.

As well as the rehabilitation order, Mohammed was given a 10-year sexual harm prevention order and placed on the sex offenders register for five years at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
