Teacher jailed for sexually abusing boy at Hampshire school
A teacher has been jailed for three years for sexually abusing a boy at a preparatory school in the early 1990s.
Nicholas Eggington, 58, of Plantation Close, Arnold, Nottingham, was sentenced at WinchesterCrown Court after being found guilty of two counts of indecent assault on a male child and two counts of gross indecency with a male child.
Eggington is also the subject of a sexual harm prevention order and will be on the sex offenders’ register for life.
A Hampshire Police spokesman said that the offences relate to a single victim and occurred between 1992 and 1993 at the Cheam School in Headley on the Berkshire/Hampshire border where Eggington taught between 1987 and 1993.
