A man who abused a 14 year old girl over a number of years has walked free from Peterborough crown court with a collection of suspended sentences
Reginald Keith Lilley (62), a former delivery driver from Werrington in Peterborough pleaded not guilty in November 2013 to numerous charges of indecent assault relating to a female child and a woman. He also pleaded not guilty to the theft of female underwear from a house.
However the jury found Lilley guilty on all the charges when he appeared at court last month
The charges related to one indecent assault on a female child aged under 16 years old. Four counts of indecent assault on a female aged over 16 years old and two counts of theft
The first offence of indecent assault happened in 1983, when the victim was aged 14 years old and he was aged in his 30’s. The court heard the abuse went on for a period of many years
The other four indecent assault charges relate to the same victim after she turned 16 years old
Lilley was not jailed and instead received numerous suspended sentences that range from 18 months to 1 month
Lilley was ordered to attend all appointments with probation at the times and places as directed for over 12 months
He was also told he must sign the sex offenders register for 10 years
