Man jailed for grooming schoolgirl for sex

A man who groomed and had a sexual activity with a schoolgirl has been jailed.

Sam Harber, 30, of Cotton Close, Sawtry, met the victim after helping her with her laptop and the pair then communicated daily on Snapchat.

The incidents happened in July and August 2017.

Harber and the girl continued to talk on social media but then stopped contacting each other in January 2018.

Harber pleaded guilty to two counts of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a child, engaging in non-penetrative sexual activity with a child, and causing or inciting a girl to engage in non-penetrative sexual activity.

He was jailed for two years and eight months and handed a seven-year restraining order preventing him from contacting the victim and a witness at Peterborough Crown Court

He was also placed on the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely and made the subject of an indefinite sexual harm prevention order.

Man sent sexually explicit messages to 13-year-old girl

A man who sent sexually explicit messages to a 13-year-old girl via Facebook messenger has been sentenced.

Aaron Atkin, of Discovery Way, Cambridge, messaged the girl between June and August 2017.

The 26 year old asked the girl what she had done sexually and asked her to send sexual images, Cambridge Magistrates’ Court heard.

The messages were reported to police and Atkins was arrested at his home. On his arrest, he claimed he hadn’t sent ‘anything sexual’ to the girl.

However, in police interview he admitted sending sexually explicit questions to the girl and when asked why he had done so he claimed he ‘just wanted to know’.

Atkin admitted engaging in sexual communication with a child at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court on 12 February.

He was sentenced at Cambridge Crown Court today (28 March) where he was handed a two-year community order.

Atkin was ordered to complete a 60-day rehabilitation activity requirement and 60 hours of unpaid work.

He was also handed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) for a period of five years.

Paedophile arranged to meet ’12-year-old girl’ after messaging decoy online account

A paedophile from Peterborough sent sexual messages and arranged to meet a ‘young girl’, unaware that she was actually an online activist.

Nicholas Mucklin, 46, of Orchard Mews, Peterborough, sent hundreds of messages to an account that he believed to be a 12-year-old girl.

However, it was in fact a decoy account set up by an Online Child Abuse Activist Group (OCAG).

Mucklin arranged to meet the girl on the morning of Sunday, April 4, outside Peterborough Train Station, but was instead met by the OCAG, who called police.

Social media chat logs, provided to officers by the OCAG, revealed 562 pages of chat stream communications between Mucklin and the account between February 12 and April 2.

Over the weeks he sent a picture of his genitals, said he wanted her to be his girlfriend and requested pictures of her in a bra.

He then arranged for her to get on a train and meet him in Peterborough to have sex but that’s when he was confronted by the decoy, having left his home with a bag of chocolates.

Mucklin admitted attempting to arrange the commission of a child sex offence and attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.

He was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison at Peterborough Crown Court on Tuesday (June 8).

He was also added to the Sex Offenders Register for life and handed an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

Paedophile asked teenage ‘girl’ for ‘naked massages’

A 45-year-old paedophile suggested to a 13-year-old ‘girl’ he met online they meet for “naked massages”, a court heard.

Richard Anthony began messaging the ‘girl’ in January 2019 and asked for pictures of ‘her’ several times before suggesting they meet.

What he didn’t know, a court heard, was that his intended victim was in fact an undercover officer posing as the ‘girl’.

He admitted attempting to incite a girl aged 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity at an earlier hearing.

Police raided Anthony’s house in Laburnum Way, St Ives, on June 18, 2019, and seized his electronic devices.

On Friday (June 4) at Peterborough Crown Court, Anthony was jailed for two years and four months.

Court gives Peterborough paedophile final warning

A paedophile who has admitted making indecent images of children less than four years after appearing in court for similar offences has been told he faces jail if he commits similar crimes in the future.

Michael Bullimore, of Chapel Street, Stanground, Peterborough, was convicted of sexual activity with a child, making indecent images of children, possessing an extreme pornographic image and possessing a prohibited image of a child in July 2017.

The 26-year-old was handed a suspended sentence but given a SHPO for five years, allowing police to manage and monitor his online behaviour, and placed on the Sex Offenders Register for ten years.

The SHPO prohibited him from deleting his internet history.

However, enquiries by the force’s Public Protection Unit (PPU) in March this year raised concerns and officers from the team visited Bullimore’s home.

During the visit two phones and a tablet were examined and seized due to their concerning content.

Checks revealed Bullimore had been visiting pornography websites daily and searching for content involving children under the age of 16.

The phones and tablet were examined and, on the phones, there were a total of 16 category C images, 38 category B images and 103 category A images – the most severe.

Further investigations revealed Bullimore had failed to tell police he had access to a family member’s laptop for a day.

He also failed to tell officers about a digital camera, an external hard drive and a phone which were later found in his room. Both of these were breaches of his SHPO.

In police interview Bullimore answered “no comment” to all questions.

However, he later admitted three counts of making indecent images of children and two counts of breaching a SHPO.

He was sentenced at Peterborough Crown Court where he was handed 16 months in prison, suspended for 24 months. He was also ordered to carry out 180 hours of unpaid work and a 40-day Rehabilitation Activity Requirement.

Bullimore was also made the subject of a new Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) for 10 years, and was placed on the Sex Offenders Register for the same timeframe.

Sentencing Bullimore, Recorder Sandeep Kainth said his offences showed a “disturbing pattern”, with children suffering and him “fuelling” those who make or upload indecent images. He warned the defendant that if he came before the courts again for similar offences, he would be jailed.
