Sex abuse man jailed

A man who sexually abused a young girl over a period of four years has been jailed for five years.

David Looseley, 35, was sentenced at Exeter Crown Court after admitting five charges of indecent assault on the girl between 1996 and 2000 while living in Brixham.

The jail term will run concurrent to a four-year sentence for offences that took
place in Kent between 1989 and 1992.

Judge Graham Cottle ordered an extended licence period of four years, meaning if Looseley commits any offence in that period he will serve that four years. He was also ordered to sign on to the Sex Offenders Register for life.
