Man had sexual obsession with 13-year-old girl

A pervert cheated on his pregnant partner after he had sex with a 13-year-old girl with whom he groomed and had become obsessed with

David Beeseley started sharing sexually explicit messages and pictures with the girl on SnapChat, and knew her age from the outset.

One day he picked her up from her school in Leicester and drove her to the car park at Groby Pool where they engaged in sexual activity.

The next morning, after her parents had left for work, he turned up at her home and had sex with her.

The girl, who had been a virgin, believed Beesley was a 19-year-old graphic design student at Warwick University, but really he was a 29-year-old Starbucks cashier at Corley Services on the M6 near Coventry, and more than twice her age.

He also lied about his surname.

They had sex again on another occasion a few weeks later, and the girl, worried she was pregnant, told her mum she had sex with a man.

Her mum called the police.

At Leicester Crown Court on Friday, Beesley, now 30, of Proffit Avenue, Coventry, was jailed after admitting nine separate sexual offences against a child.

Judge Timothy Spencer told him: “I think you were overcome by some sort of madness.

“You had a decent job, a steady relationship and your partner was expecting your first baby.

“You had so much positive going on in your life it’s really dfficult to decide why you threw it all away.

“Right from the start you knew she was 13, but you decided to live out your sexual obsession with her.”

The court heard that Beesley had first contacted the girl in September or October 2019, when he was 29 and she was 13.

Prosecutor Michael Cramner Brown said he met her after school on November 4.

“He picked her up and took her to the car park at Groby Pool,” said the prosecutor. “She thought they were just going to meet to talk and maybe a kiss or two.

“She was in her school uniform and had some holes in her tights and he was touching the holes, and then they kissed and he pulled her onto his lap.”

The following morning they had sex in her bed, and after that he “went off the radar”, Mr Cramner Brown said.

A few days later she received a text message from Beesley’s partner, who told the girl she was eight months pregnant with Beesley’s child and asked the girl not to contact him again.

Beesley later told the girl he did not have a partner and that the message was really from his sister, who was being overprotective.

Beesley convinced his partner, meanwhile, that he was not going to see the girl again, and denied knowing she was just 13.

Mr Cramner Brown said: “He managed to wriggle his way out of it with his girlfriend.

“The girl bought it all, too.”

Beesley went back to see the girl on December 4, and they had sex again, including unprotected sex that led to the girl confiding in her mother.

As soon as Beesley found out the police were involved, he sold his phone. But because he was on a contract, phone records made it easy to find out who he was.

The girl was interviewed in May 2020 and told the police what she and Beesley had done together. Beesley was arrested in July 2020 and gave no comment at interview.

He later admitted all nine charges against him.

He urged Judge Spencer not to give his client an extended sentence – which can be given for public protection for someone deemed to be ‘dangerous’ – and the judge agreed, giving him four-and-a-half-years in prison.

But Beesley was warned it would not be an easy time, with people who have sex with children often facing hostility from other prisoners.

The judge told him: “As a sex offender, that will mean a very hard time in prison.”

Tesco worker ‘dangerous’ to children after trying to groom 14-year-old girl on Kik app

A Tesco worker has been branded ‘dangerous’ to children after trying to groom a 14-year-old on the Kik app.

Matthew Whitehouse asked the girl to send him naked photos after sending her a link to a ‘game’.

The 30-year-old from Erdington was also found in possession of more than 100 sick pictures and moving images of children, some of which he distributed on the social media network.

His most serious offence was sending a category A – the most serious – image of a victim as young as five.

Whitehouse was said to be ashamed of his actions and worried about losing his supermarket job of 11 years. But that was the least of his problems as he was jailed for 20 months at Birmingham Crown Court on Tuesday, May 11.

The probation service concluded he presented a high risk of serious harm to children.

Judge Richard Bond said: “I’ve got to protect the public from him. The probation service is effectively saying he’s dangerous.”

Police executed a warrant at his home in Glendon Road on August 28, 2019 after receiving intelligence about a Kik account from the address being linked to indecent images.

Officers arrested Whitehouse who denied any sexual interest in children and said he thought he had been talking to adults, although he admitted some ‘low level’ distribution of images, said prosecutor Richard McConaghy.

An iPod Touch and Samsung tablet were seized which together contained 33 category A still and moving images, 34 category B and 41 category C. Whtehouse’s chat logs on Kik were analysed revealing he had distributed six pictures.

He had also spoken to someone who had stated they were 14-years-old, although the individual has never been traced to confirm whether she was authentic or a setup by paedophile hunters.

Whitehouse sent the girl a link to a questionnaire which at first asked ‘innocuous’ questions.

Mr McConaghy said: “As things progressed he sent a second link with more questions. Things became more sexualised. It was a mechanism to encourage this 14-year-old girl to enter into this game then up the ante asking her what sexual behaviour she had engaged in, who with, how many times, whether she would pose for photographs.

“As the conversation began to reach its peak he sent her some indecent images.”

Whitehouse admitted three charges of making indecent images, three charges of distributing indecent images and one count of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.

Judge Bond imposed a 10-year sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) and told Whitehouse he will have to sign the sex offenders’ register for the same period.

Sex beast who targeted lone females on Birmingham trains jailed

A depraved sex beast who targeted schoolgirls and women travelling alone on West Midlands trains has been jailed.

Sick Kwamin Mercer assaulted five women on the evening of September 3 and morning of September 4 last year.

Mercer, aged 39, was today caged for four years after a trial at Birmingham Crown Court.

He pleaded guilty to six counts of sexual assault by touching, one count of outraging public decency, one count of common assault and one count of committing a common assault with the intention of committing a relevant sexual assault.

He was also issued with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SPHO) for 10 years that states he must not sit next to an unknown female on any public transport, or travel on the rail network, Underground or DLR in the UK unless he has a valid ticket purchased by a bank card registered to him.

The court heard he targeted his first victim on the evening of September 3 as the train left Birmingham

Mercer, of Corporation Street, Birmingham, approached a lone woman on the train, sat in the seat opposite her before leaning forward and touching her inappropriately.

The woman immediately moved away from Mercer who then put his hands in his trouser pockets and appeared to masturbate.

The following morning, between 7am and 9am, Mercer sexually assaulted four more women by touching them inappropriately on-board services travelling between stations in the West Midlands.

One of the victims was a 15-year-old girl travelling to school with a group of friends.

All the victims reported Mercer’s behaviour to the British Transport Police using its 61016 text-to-report service.

Man jailed for brutal attack on mother and child

A man has been jailed after admitting causing grievous bodily harm to a mum and her son in Tipton last year.

Aamer Araf repeatedly stabbed the 37-year-old woman with a kitchen knife until she lost consciousness in Mansion Drive in the early hours of May 28, and as neighbours rushed to her aid, he took her seven-month-old son upstairs, swinging him by his legs and banging his head on the walls.

When police arrived Araf used the baby to avoid arrest, but he was tasered to allow officers to rescue the boy and get medical help.

The baby was taken to hospital in a critical condition with head injuries, while his mother suffered stab wounds to her face, hands and thigh, and a fractured hand.

Araf was arrested for attempted murder, but pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of grievous bodily harm at Wolverhampton Crown Court

He was diagnosed as being a paranoid schizophrenic and was also a habitual cannabis user.

The 33-year-old, from Mansion Drive, was sentenced to 12 years in prison, reduced to eight years for his early guilty plea and reduced culpability.

He will also serve four years on licence upon his release.

Pushbike serial rapist convicted of brutal attacks on Birmingham sex workers

A serial rapist who approached women on his pushbike faces a lengthy jail term for brutal attacks on five sex workers in Birmingham.

Esa Juwara began his campaign of sexual assaults in March 2019. He approached his first victim on Reservoir Road on his pushbike in the early hours of March 10.

When she refused his advances, he grabbed her and threatened her with a knife but fortunately her friends heard her screams and as they came running, Juwara made off.

Then in July 2019 Juwara attacked another sex worker on Ladywood Road.

She also refused his advances so he punched her and hit her repeatedly with a bike chain. She managed to escape but was left with a loose tooth, which subsequently fell out, and bruises.

Three months later Juwara accosted the same victim again in Icknield Port Road. This time she was unable to fight him off as he punched her repeatedly and raped her.

Juwara went on to rape another sex worker on two separate occasions in November and December 2019, again with the same level of violence and another was attacked twice in December − the first time saved by members of the public, but threatened with a knife and raped on the second occasion.

A fifth sex worker was attacked in Chamberlain Gardens by Juwara with his bike chain around her neck. She passed out for a short time and awoke to find him raping her, before passers-by came to her rescue and Juwara made off.

In January 2020 plain clothes police officers were on patrol in Ladywood Park when they spotted a man on a bike matching the description of the offender. As they moved in to arrest him, he threatened a female officer with his bike chain.

CS spray was discharged, but he made off. Fortunately, officers nearby were able to detain him.

Juwara, of Lighthorne Avenue , Ladywood, was picked out by three victims in ID parades and matched the descriptions given by the other two.

DNA evidence from a sixth victim also linked him to the offences, however she did not wish to make a complaint, but did give evidence in court.

At Birmingham Crown Court today (May 5), the 21-year-old was convicted on all charges following a trial and will be sentenced at a later date.
