Hastings paedophile Marcus Osbourne confronted by COBRA
THIS is the moment a paedophile was exposed on his doorstep for chatting up a teenage girl for sex.
Marcus Osbourne was confronted by paedophile hunter group Children Online Battling Real Abuse (Cobra) in Hastings.
The 50-year-old was seen in the video on the doorstep and was challenged over Whatsapp messages he sent to a decoy girl.
Osbourne told the decoy account he needed to “stop being creepy” but couldn’t help himself.
He engaged in sexual chat and invited her to perform sexual acts on herself
“No matter how hard I try to hide it, you are a little girl,” he said.
At Hove Crown Court Osbourne admitted two counts of an adult engaging in sexual communication with a child and possession of 21 indecent images of children.
He was given a community order and put on the sex offenders register.
The father-of-one was rumbled by Cobra whose volunteers confronted him.
In the video footage Osbourne at first tries to deny having sexual communication, then denied knowing how old the girl was.
But a woman warns him that he was told about the girl’s age, and said she could read out the sick messages Osbourne sent in full.
Osbourne then crumbled. He said: “I know I have done wrong. I have been thinking about it a lot and need to stop.”
He promised to leave internet chatrooms and delete contacts from his phone.
“It is not something I do normally,” he claimed, and was challenged: “How did it happen then?”
Osbourne claimed: “I just got talking. I live alone and get lonely. I started talking and it got, probably got, a little bit too far.”
“Way too far, by some of the things you have said,” the volunteer replied.
Cobra explained the impact child sexual abuse has on victims and families, and reported Osbourne to the police.
In court he was ordered to complete 40 rehabilitation sessions with probation.
The judge put Osbourne, of South Terrace, Hastings, on the sex offenders register for five years and imposed a sexual harm prevention order which restricts his access to children and computer equipment.
Osbourne’s Acer laptop and iPhone were seized and ordered to be destroyed.
A paedophile robbed three young girls of their childhood by repeatedly abusing them for his own sick desires.
Christopher Brock, 67, abused the girls over a period of 16 years in Sussex during the 1980s and 1990s.
At Brighton Crown Court a jury found him guilty of 20 counts of sexual abuse, which including multiple offences including indecent assault, acts of gross indeceny with a child, and inciting acts of gross indecency.
The victims, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, were as young as six years old when the abuse started.
One victim described the feelings of shame she felt and how the abuse still affects her today.
His Honour Judge Mark Van Der Zwart caged Brock for 13 years, and said because of the danger the defendant presents, he must serve at least two thirds of the sentence before he can be considered for release.
Jennifer Gray, prosecuting, said the crimes took place over a “considerable period of time”.
It was revealed that if one of the charges were prosecuted today, it would be classed as rape of a child.
The judge said that despite character references, they did not know Brock had abused the girls behind closed doors.
He said: “The jury found you guilty of 20 counts of sexual offences, many of them represent multiple incidents of sexual abuse.
“On most of the occasions your victims were just little girls. They were entitled to be protected from harm but instead you used them one after another to satisfy your sexual lust.
“You robbed them off their childhoods and of their innocence.
“It has affected their ability to trust adults and men, or enjoy intimacy with a partner without the intrusive memories of the abuse you caused them.
“You were unable to control your sexual urges despite the risk of getting caught. This heightened your sexual thrill.”
He said all three victims have suffered severe psychological harm and suffered trauma deep into adulthood.
The judge said the victims had to relive their ordeal during the trial and said: “Each was brave and dignified in the face of your cowardly denials and insistence that they were lying.
“Every word they said was true.”
Brock, of Coolham Road, Thakeham, near Pulborough, will serve two thirds of his 13 year sentence before a parole board decides if he is safe to be released.
It means we will serve more than eight and half years behind bars, and will be a registered sex offender for life. He also has an extra year added to his period on licence, and will be subject to a sexual harm prevention order to prevent his access to children.
Marcus Osborne, 49, of South Terrace, Hastings, indicated a plea of guilty to intentionally attempting to incite a girl to engage in sexual activity.

This was promptly reported to the police who arrested Haleemdeen on the same day.
The abuse started when they were both at a very young age and continued into their teenage years before they found the courage to report what was happening to teachers at school in October 2019.
