Man sent to young offender’s institute for sexual communication with child

A man has been sent to a young offenders’ institute after he admitted sexual communications with a young girl.

Steven Charles Harrison, of Clwyd Street in Rhyl, appeared at Caernarfon Crown Court on Wednesday.

The 20-year-old had previously admitted four offences including sexual communication with a child, causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity by committing a sex act as well as by sending indecent photographs of themselves, and causing a child to look at an image of a person engaging in sexual activity.

James Coutts, prosecuting, told the court Harrison told the young girl he was 19 and was made aware of her age, but their conversations became sexual with Harrison sending her numerous photos of his genitals, as well as videos of him committing a sex act on himself.

He asked her to send sexual photos of herself to him.

The court heard Harrison asked to meet her on around 25 occasions – but she refused.

Mr Coutts said the offences made the victim upset and worried, with her withdrawing from family and friends and her school life being affected.

Judge Nicola Jones told Harrison: “At all times you knew her age.

“There was an element of grooming as part of the offending.

Judge Jones handed him an immediate sentence of three years in a young offenders’ institute and made him the subject of a five year sexual harm prevention order.

Child sex offender caught out by CCTV as he topped up credit on phone he used in crimes

A man was today jailed for sexual offences against a “12-year-old girl” who was really a decoy from a child protection group.

Andrew Cuckson had tried to avoid detection by keeping out of camera shot in his bedroom in a video call to the “girl”.

But he was caught on a Post Office CCTV camera topping up the credit on his phone.

A judge told Cuckson at Mold Crown Court his offending had been “persistent”.

Cuckson, of Smithfield Road, Denbigh, had denied 22 child sex offences but he had been convicted by a jury of them all at a trial on January 21, the court heard.

The 53-year-old appeared in the dock today and was sentenced for two leading charges of attempting to incite a child under 13 to engage in penetrative sexual activity.

The court heard that between September 22, 2018 and May 27, 2019 Cuckson thought he was communicating online with a 12-year-old girl called Alisha. But it was a woman from KKS Wales, (Keeping Kids Safe) acting as a decoy.

They were on numerous platforms but then went onto WhatsApp.

The Recorder Dyfed Llion Thomas said all the conversations were sexualised.

He said Cuckson asked the “girl” to strip, expose herself in photos and fantasised about what he would do to her if they met.

The judge said Cuckson invited the “girl” to a video call but with a “degree of cunning” stayed out of sight of the camera. But he was later spotted on a Post Office CCTV camera topping up the credit on his phone.

But the offending became even more serious when on December 23, 2018 and January 8, 2019 he asked her to perform a sex act on herself.

Jailing him for four years, the judge also imposed three-year, concurrent sentences on each of five charges of inciting a child under 13 to engage in non-penetrative sexual activity.

He was also given one-year, concurrent jail terms for 11 counts of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child under 13.

And he was given 18 months jail for each of three counts of attempting to incite a child to look at images of sexual activity. All will run concurrently to the main four year jail term.

Rhuddlan web designer jailed for distributing child sexual abuse images

A web designer was jailed for 16 months after he admitted distributing child sexual abuse images to another paedophile

James Tolmie, aged 59, of Castle Street, Rhuddlan, also pleaded guilty to possessing indecent images of children when police raided a property at Abergele last May and a computer was seized.

Judge Nicola Jones ordered the defendant to register as a sex offender and made a sexual harm prevention order for ten years.

She said one child shown in the images had been bound in a painful manner.

“Only an immediate custodial sentence is appropriate,” the judge declared.

Paedophile found with sick images describing children as ‘fertile’ and ‘good to go’

A paedophile was found to have hundreds of indecent images of children, including one of a 10-year-old girl labelled “good to go”.

Filip Jonczyk, 21, of Well Street, Ruthin pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent photographs of children.

A judge at Mold Crown Court said there was a chance he could be rehabilitated and gave him a 16-month jail term suspended for two years.

The court heard police arrested Jonczyk at his home in Ruthin on December 10 last year.

Prosecutor Oliver King said officers seized two laptop computers and a mobile phone. On the laptops, they found 118 still images and 111 videoes in the most serious Category A.

There were also 179 still and 48 moving images in Category B and 1,888 still and 17 moving images in Category C.

The prosecutor said the images and videos indicated a sexual interest in children – mainly girls – aged three to 15.

He said deleted folders were hidden on the computers’ hard drives and concealed within other folders.

He said folders had names such as “Delightfully little playthings”, “Girls, girls, girls” and “Titan topless teens”.

And a photo of a 10-year-old girl was captioned: “The law says ‘Five more years’. Biology says ‘Good to go’. Science wins.”

In another caption, in Polish, a six-year-old girl was described as “fertile”.

gave him the 16-month suspended jail term for the first count of offences involving Category A images and videoes, and eight and four months suspended jail terms respectively for the other two counts involving Category B and Category C images.

She told the defendant: “You attempted to hide the folders in a sophisticated folder system and there is a large number of different victims.”

But she also said he must do 60 days of rehabilitation activity, and he was given a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for 10 years.

Two perverts jailed for child sex offences

A couple who committed multiple sexual offences against a young child and who possessed images of child rape have been jailed.

Janos Barber, 28, from Church View, Chirk, Wrexham (pictured right), was jailed for eight years and 10 months and Samuel Clarke (left), 30, of Chapel Lane, Chirk, for six years and eight months.

Recorder Duncan Bould said the pair, who lived together, been caught up in distorted thought processes and paedophilic tendencies which they acted out.

He said their victim had been caused untold damage and said he had the utmost sympathy for the boy’s mother whose “tortured” words, saying how her heart was broken, were read to the court in a victim impact statement.

The men were sentenced at Mold Crown Court yesterday after pleading guilty to magistrates at an earlier hearing.

Barber admitted two charges of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, two of sexual assault against a child and two of committing a sexual act in the presence of a child.

He also admitted charges of the possession of indecent images and one case of voyeurism.

Clarke admitted three counts of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child and the possession of indecent images.

Mr Simon Rogers, prosecuting, said police carried out a search of the defendants’ flat in Church View on June 1 after being informed by a social media platform that two videos involving children had been uploaded by a phone in the flat.

A search was made of the premises and a USB stick found containing videos and photographs of a boy involved in sexual activity. The two defendants both featured in the videos.

In addition, equipment found in the flat contained no less than 120,000 still images and videos of child abuse. This included more than 1,000 of the highest category of seriousness including the rape of a baby, Mr Rogers said.

Barber also admitted recording video footage of boys dressing and undressing at a swimming pool. He had hidden a camera inside a rucksack, Mr Rogers said.

Both men, appearing on video link from HMP Berwyn Prison, broke down during the hearing.

The court was told that Barber had expressed remorse for the impact his offences had had on his victim and victim’s family.

Mr Recorder Bould told the men that their depraved actions would be met with disgust and revulsion by right-minded members of the public.

He said: “We have heard the tortured words of the victim’s mother and I have every sympathy for her.”

As well as jailing both defendants Mr Recorder Bould placed them on the sex offenders register indefinitely and said they would never be able to work with children.
