Indecent images man is jailed

An Easter Ross man who was due to go on trial earlier this year at Inverness Sheriff Court absconded minutes before it was due to start.

But Inverness Sheriff Court heard that the law caught up with Robert Dollan, of High Street, Tain, and he was remanded in custody.

He appeared in handcuffs before Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood and admitted downloading and possessing indecent images and videos of children between February and November 2014.

Dollan, 31, was jailed for 18 months.

He also pleaded guilty to failing to appear for his trial and had nine months added to his sentence by Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood.

In addition, Dollan was placed on the sex offender’s register for 10 years.
