Paedophile PE teacher jailed after grooming and engaging in sexual intecourse with an underage girl

Paedophile PE teacher Adam White has been jailed after grooming and engaging in sexual intecourse with an underage girl he met at a Stoke-on-Trent school.

The 22-year-old added the girl on Facebook after volunteering in the sports department of a city high school.

Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court heard he arranged to meet her in a Bucknall alleyway where he committed his vile sex attack.

White, of Staveley Grove, Bucknall, has now been jailed for four years and three months after pleading guilty to sexual activity with a child.

Prosecutor Benjamin Lawrence said: “He was a volunteer PE teacher. The defendant sent the victim a Facebook friend request, they exchanged messages and he requested she added him on Snapchat.

“It came to the point he requested a meeting and they arranged a place in Bucknall. She requested a lift from her mother and said she was meeting a friend – they met in an alleyway.

“There was sexual contact and kissing, and she was fine, but then it went further. She wasn’t happy but didn’t express it.

“He undid her jeans, she didn’t say anything but felt upset.”

The court heard White proceeded to have sex with the girl.

After the girl reported the incident to the police, White was arrested and initially denied meeting his victim.

Mr Lawrence added that White had been convicted of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity five times – all at the same school.

He added: “He was previously given a community order. Knowing about this offence, he would have been sent to prison.”

As well as being jailed, White will be subject to an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and will be on the sex offenders’ register for life.

Jailing the defendant, Judge David Fletcher said: “You were involved in the school’s PE department and the victim thought you were a teacher

“You knew that you have been interviewed by the police in connection to allegations made by other girls at the school. They all complained about contact on social media that was sexual.

“This offence had a significant degree of planning and there was clear grooming behaviour. She was a vulnerable young victim.”
