Singer jailed for having hundreds of horrific child rape images and movies was living in Hull

An ex-Butlin’s redcoat who had hundreds of horrific child rape images on his laptop is believed to have been living in Hull.

Darren “Jazzy” Bruce has been jailed for 15 months after almost 300 movies and images were found on his device – 100 of which were classified as the most serious type

Originally from Fife in Scotland, it is believed the 37-year-old was living in Hull’s Queen’s Gate Street, off Boulevard, up until his sentencing earlier this week.

Bruce was supposed to be performing in Hull Live’s Star Search 2019 competition earlier this month, but cancelled his audition due to “work commitments”.

While passing Bruce his sentence, Sheriff Charles Macnair told Dunfermline Sheriff Court: “You possessed more Class A images than any other type.

“When one uses such bland terms as Class A it hides the foul reality of what you were watching, which were films of the rape of young children and it is that abuse you watched for your own gratification.

“The victims of your offending are those children who are being raped and abused. If people didn’t watch it others wouldn’t make it.”

The Elvis impersonator was arrested last year in Gran Canaria and extradited back to the UK after he allowed a colleague to use his computer, who then reported the images to the police.

The images were said to include those of young males exposing themselves.

Bruce claims to have appeared on ITV during his time as an entertainer, and on his website cites appearances with celebrities including S Club 7 and Alexandra Burke.

He lists “Children’s TV” under specialist areas.

Referring to himself as “Jazzy”, he describes how his career in entertainment started at Butlin’s.

But he later went on to perform all over the world, including in locations such as Egypt, Ayia Napa, Majorca and Turkey.
