Fife paedophile jailed after trying to lure schoolboys to his home to ‘play pool’

A Levenmouth paedophile who tried to lure two schoolboys to his home with the promise of a game of pool has been jailed for two years.

Jordan Stenhouse was already banned from having unsupervised communication with children when he approached the two boys, aged 12 and 13, and asked them if they would return to his home.

Stenhouse, who has been on remand at HMP Perth for almost eight months, appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court where he was sentenced for a string of charges.

The 21-year-old behaved in a disorderly manner when he approached the two schoolboys – who cannot be named for legal reasons – on November 11 2020 and repeatedly asked them to come back to his home.

The boys were waiting for a bus at the Shorehead station in Leven when Stenhouse told them he had a pool table they could play on.

The court heard in April Stenhouse told the boys “everybody knew him” and he had had four children at his house recently.

Stenhouse asked which bus they were catching and repeatedly asked them to go to his home as their route went past it.

He later followed them onto the bus to apologise but when one of the boys called his mother, she contacted police.

On bail at the time, Stenhouse was under court-imposed orders not to have unsupervised contact with any child aged 15 or under, unless with another adult.

Stenhouse also admitted possessing child abuse images a year before the bus station incident.

Between November 5 and November 7 2019, he took or permitted to be taken or made indecent photos or pseudo-photographs of children.

Officers from the Offender Management Unit requested to see the Buckhaven man’s Samsung mobile phone on November 8, a capability granted to them as part of Risk of Sexual Harm Order imposed on Stenhouse in 2018.

His search history included terms such as “young naked boys” and he had 25 images depicting sexual abuse of children between the ages of three and eight.

Stenhouse told the officers he had not downloaded any images but admitted searching for them and found it hard to stop looking.

On another occasion, officers found him with an undisclosed Sony mobile with 61 indecent images on it.

These, mainly of teenage boys, had been accessed via a Russian photo-sharing website commonly used by paedophiles to exchange sexual abuse images.

He admitted possessing the images at an address in Den Walk, Buckhaven.

Sheriff Jamie Gilchrist sentenced Stenhouse to two years behind bars and placed him on the Sex Offenders Register for ten years.

He told Stenhouse he runs a risk of spending most of his life in prison should his behaviour continue after his release.

His sentence was backdated to the start of his time on remand.

Fife paedophile searched for teenage models

A Fife paedophile claimed his obsession with a teenage models was an “appreciation of beauty”.

Robert Ward told police he was not sexually attracted to children.

However, officers found hundreds of images on a laptop computer, half of which were still accessible.

Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court heard the 54-year-old broke down and told his partner: “I’ve been looking at things I shouldn’t have”.

The laptop was recovered from the bedroom used by a young girl staying at the address.

Depute fiscal Claire Bremner told the court: “At 8.10am officers executed a search warrant.

“The accused became upset and said: ‘I’m f***ing stupid, I’ve not downloaded anything but I’ve been looking at websites’.

“His wife asked why he was upset and he said: ‘I’ve been looking at things I shouldn’t have’.”

Ms Bremner said at this point officers recovered a laptop from the child’s bedroom.

Ward also admitted to officers the girl had been allowed to use the laptop containing the vile images.

He said he had been searching for teenage models and admitted to using the Tor browser “two or three times a week” and had looked at a modelling website.

Ms Bremner continued: “He said he was infatuated with one model, who appeared to be between 14 and 16 years old.

“He said he knew they (the models) were children.

“He said he was not sexually attracted to children, it was more an appreciation of her beauty.”

She said an examination of the laptop found 1,033 images.

Of those, 533 were accessible to the user.

All of the images depicted females aged between six and 15.

Ward, of Alma Street, Inverkeithing, admitted making indecent photographs of children at an address in Crosshill between December 27 2019 and March 9 last year.

Sentence was deferred for reports and Ward was placed on the sex offenders register in the interim.

Convicted paedophile fled to Truro after riots outside his house

A Scottish man who sent pictures of his penis to girls he thought were 12 and 13 years old has been ordered to remain confined to the house in Cornwall which he fled to.

Nicholas Denison, 62, was convicted in June for sending the pictures to the girls he believed to be in their tweens and handed an electronic tag curfew for his home in Crossgates, in Fife in Scotland.

However, after riots outside his Scotland house and his wife leaving him, Denison fled to Truro in July.

His neighbours in Crossgates had said they did not want to bring up children near him, with one even being fined £320 for shouting “f*****g beast” outside his house.

The move to Truro was a breach of his restriction of liberty order, and he was threatened with jail should he remain in England.

Dunfermline Sheriff Court heard in July that Denison had moved out of Scotland, and suspended the order for three months.

A court hearing was called on to decide whether to send him to prison.

Denison, however, did not show up again to the new hearing.

At this new hearing, a legal representative further said Denison’s wife had left him, and that he had no plans to leave England.

Sheriff Wylie Robertsson decided to hand Denison a new three-month electronic tag curfew, to be served at the address in Truro.

This runs alongside the 300 hours of unpaid work and three years of supervision.

Neighbours write to sheriff about fears over Fife paedophile in their community

Neighbours of a Fife paedophile wrote a letter to a sheriff to express their concerns about him living in their community

Nicholas Denison,61, used the social media network Kik to send vile images, along with pornographic videos, to accounts he believed were being used by children.

However the accounts were actually decoys being run by police officers.

Dunfermline Sheriff Court heard when Denison’s offending came to light, his neighbours wrote directly to Sheriff Charles Macnair.

They said they feel unable to allow their children to play freely in their cul-de-sac in light of his offences.

Despite their two-page missive, Sheriff Macnair declined to impose a custodial sentence.

He said he was able to impose a longer supervision period on Denison than if he had jailed him.

Sheriff Macnair said while the offence met the threshold for a custodial sentence, it would be less substantial than the ones available if Denison had appeared before a jury.

He noted Denison would be under supervision for a longer period if he imposed a “high level” community disposal.

He said: “You committed these offences over a significant period of weeks.

“You thought you were contacting young girls. In fact, happily, you were in contact with police officers.

“Although you say it was not your intention to have contact this sort of offending often does lead to contact and is typical grooming behaviour.

“I have seen the letter from neighbours and can well understand their concerns at living in the same cul-de-sac as someone who commits these types of offences.

“Unfortunately there’s nothing I can do about that.

“Any custodial sentence I could impose would be very lenient and would not result in adequate punishment or protection to the public.”

Denison, of Baxter Road, Crossgates, was placed on a three-year supervision order and ordered to carry out 300 hours of unpaid work.

He was also placed on an overnight curfew for a period of four months and made subject of conditions, including that he must have no contact with anyone under the age of 16 without prior approval.

He was placed on the sex offenders register.

The court had previously heard the pervert believed he had sent 11 graphic photographs and videos to an account belonging to a 13-year-old.

He also sent “numerous” indecent photographs to another account, purportedly belonging to a 12-year-old.

He had sent the images under the username “Jaww Blowws”.

Police swooped on his address, at which point Denison confessed all.

Last month he admitted sending explicit material to a people he believed to be 12 and 13-year-olds in January and February.

Fife paedophile claimed he downloaded child abuse images to catch other perverts

A Fife man caught with thousands of child abuse images claimed he was “researching” to snare other paedophiles.

Logan Chapman, 21, was found to have, in a room shared with a young boy, a computer containing the vile pictures.

Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court heard that Chapman had been using a Tor server to browse the internet anonymously.

Of the 1,926 still images recovered from the device, 217 were Category A – the worst kind showing the rape or torture of young children

He was also found to have one video

Search terms such as “Lolita” had been used to find the images, which were on a “system unit” – the tower component of a computer.

Fiscal depute Claire Bremner told the court Chapman broke down when confronted.

She said: “The locus was the home address of the accused, where he lived with his parents and three brothers.

“At 7am officers of Police Scotland executed a search warrant and were let in by the accused’s father.

“The accused was asked questions about his electronic devices.

“He stated he had a mobile phone and a PC, which were in his bedroom, and provided the PIN codes for these.

“A system unit containing images of child sexual abuse was recovered from the bedroom he shared with his brother.

“He stated he was attracted to young females and young feminine males.

“He said he used a Tor browser to go into chatrooms to discuss politics.

“He said he was trying to research in order to report images to the relevant authorities.

“He then broke down and said he knew it was wrong and needed help.”

Ms Bremner said 217 images at category A, 327 at category B and 1,218 category C images were inaccessible to the user. However 164 images at category C were viewable.

Chapman, of Allan Park, Hill of Beath, admitted taking or making indecent images of children at an address in Cowdenbeath between February 1 2018 and June 17 last year.

Sentence was deferred for reports and Chapman was placed on the sex offenders register.

Man jailed for 30 months for sexually assaulting two girls

A sexual predator who handcuffed a teenage girl on a bed and sexually assaulted her has been jailed for 30 months.

A sheriff said the fact the 16-year-old girl whom he handcuffed before assaulting had the functioning age of a much younger child made that offence “particularly distasteful”.

Andrew Boyne, now of Inverkeithing, targeted the 16-year-old in a flat in Stirling while his partner was out at bingo.

A jury saw a video of an interview with the victim, carried out by police officers in 2017.

The child said she “froze” after Boyne had “touched her inappropriately” under her bedcovers.

She told the police that a few days later Boyne’s partner and another man went to the bingo and Boyne handcuffed her “really tight” with silver “chain-type” handcuffs when they were alone in the flat together.

Officers asked her: “What happened when the cuffs were on?”

She replied: “He did the same as he did on the Monday and I couldn’t do anything because I had the handcuffs on.

“I had my pyjamas on… my feet were dangling off the edge of the bed.”

Boyne’s victim told police she was “scared” and later told a relative what had happened.

Now 19, she told Falkirk Sheriff Court the assault had felt “horrible”.

The older victim told the court she was 18 and staying in a bed and breakfast in Stirling’s Raploch area when Boyne sexually assaulted her in May 2012.

Imposing the 30-month jail term, Sheriff said: “Clearly these are significant matters.

“The second charge was particularly significant, because although [the victim] was around 16 at the time she had a functioning age of a much younger child.
