Sex offender who tried to chat to child is ordered not to travel without telling police
A sex offender has been ordered not to travel without telling police at least a fortnight before he goes.
Kevin Hincks, of Draper Road in Christchurch, appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court last week to admit intentionally attempting to communicate with a child for sexual gratification. The offence was committed on dates between December 27 2017 and November 17 2018.
The 43-year-old was sentenced to a community order, under which he must comply with an accredited programme for 35 days and a rehabilitation activity requirement for 30 days.
He was also made the subject of a sexual harm prevention order for a decade, under which he is banned from a range of activities, including deleting his internet history, having an unsupervised contact with a child and travelling outside of England and Wales without providing at least 14 days’ advance notice.
Hincks must also register with the police for five years.
