Former after-school tutor jailed for sexual abuse

A man has been jailed after indecently assaulting girls at an after-school class in the 1990s.

Liaquat Mahmoud, 48, of Tamworth Street, Oldham, was sentenced to a five and a half year jail sentence after facing seven charges of indecent assault at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court.

The court heard how during one of the classes, the former after-school tutor asked a girl to sit on a sofa before sexually assaulting her.

On a separate occasion, another victim went to make a cup of tea when Mahmood approached her from behind and sexually assaulted her.
