Stoke-on-Trent man jailed for multiple sexual offences

A man has been jailed following a detailed investigation into sexual offences in Stoke-on-Trent.

Clive Brown, 43, of Greenhead Street, Burslem, appeared at Nottingham Crown Court today, Friday 8 July, and was sentenced to life imprisonment for:

• Five counts of rape

• Two indecent assaults

• Procuring a woman to become a prostitute

• Causing/inciting prostitution for gain.

At a previous hearing (10 May 2016) Brown pleaded guilty to the above offences.

The case follows a complex and detailed investigation by Staffordshire Police’s Public Protection Investigation Team into offences committed against six females in Stoke-on-Trent between 1988 and 2015.

The majority of victims were aged in their teens and early 20s with the exception of one who was just seven years old when Brown indecently assaulted her.

Brown was arrested and charged with multiple sexual offences in December 2015.
