Teenager jailed for abusing two young girls

A perverted teenager has been jailed after he was found guilty of abusing two young girls.

Michael Thomas Maydew, formerly of Parkfields in Wolverhampton was found guilty by the jury at his trial at Wolverhampton Court of:

  • Sexual assault on a child under 13-years-old

  • Assault of a child aged under 13-years-old by penetration

The court was told that the first victim who Maydew sexually assaulted was aged 10-years-old.

The second victim, who he sexually assaulted by penetration was a five-year-old girl with learning difficulties.

Medical evidence found scaring caused by his fingernails after he had inserted them into the victims private parts. He abused the girl in this way on at least two separate occasions

In a victim impact statement, the girls were said to be mentally and physically affected from their ordeals. Both girls now suffer from anxiety and bed wetting. One girl was described as being too scared to go upstairs on her own.

Maydew was sentenced to three years and six months in a young offenders institution.

He was also told he must register as a sex offender for an indefinite period, and that on his release, he must not enter the areas of Wolverhampton and Bilston
