‘Horrible’ rapist Kenneth Paton jailed for six years

A 46-year-old man who raped a schoolgirl and sexually abused a young boy more than 30 years ago has been jailed for six years.

Kenneth Paton, from Troon, South Ayrshire, was convicted of carrying out the offences between 1984 and 1988.

At the High Court in Glasgow, Judge Bill Dunlop QC also placed Paton on the sex offenders’ register.

The judge said: “These were truly horrible offences. You inflicted abuse on your two victims.“

Defence QC Gary Allan said: Mr Paton continues to maintain his position of innocence. His partner is standing by him.”
