Man jailed for grooming schoolgirl

A man from Newcastle has been jailed for grooming and engaging in sexual activity with a 13-year-old schoolgirl

At a hearing on the 12 February 2015, at Newcastle Crown Court, 20-year-old Kane Swinburne pleaded guilty to the following charges:

1. Meeting a child following sexual grooming.

2. Sexual activity with a child.

Swinburne was sentenced to 27 months imprisonment.

He must register as a sex offender for a period of 10-years.

A sexual prevention order was also made, to last for a period of seven-years, which limits his contact with anyone aged under 16-years-old.
