A MAN who downloaded indecent images of children on his computer – has received a suspended prison sentence.

Paul Lovatt, aged 32, of Queen Street, Audley, was convicted by a jury of making indecent images of children in 2006 and possessing indecent images of children.

Judge Paul Glenn yesterday handed Lovatt a two month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, with a three month electronically monitored curfew from 10pm to 5am and 12 months’ supervision.

Lovatt, who continues to deny the offences, will be on the sex offenders’ register for seven years.

Judge Glenn told him: “You went to a number of different websites. They were real photos, not pseudo, and real children were involved and would have suffered, at the very least, psychological harm.

“I am entirely satisfied you had a sexual interest in this material. Some of the children were under 13.”
