Blackmailing child rapist jailed for 12 and a half years
A BLACKMAILING rapist who coerced a Burton schoolgirl into sex acts has been jailed for 12 and a half years.
Cameron Chambers threatened to post naked photos of the 15-year-old on Facebook unless she did what he said.
On three separate occasions he raped her and forced her to perform sexual acts.
He even refused to wear a condom, Stafford Crown Court heard.
Chambers, 24, of Churchill Street, Burton, admitted three charges of rape.
Judge Mark Eades told him: “She was only 15. For her to have this sort of experience must have been devastating. You got her to degrade herself and you told her you had videoed your sexual activity in order to increase your hold over her.
“One dreads to think how long this might have continued.”
Chambers was ordered to register as a sex offender for life, banned from working with children, also for life, and banned from communication with persons under 16.
Peter Cooper, prosecuting, said Chambers got in touch with the girl via a messaging service. He claimed to be a 15-year-old boy, whereas, at the time, he was 22. The general text chat between them eventually turned sexual until he asked her to send him photos of herself naked. She eventually succumbed to his request and initially he was very complimentary.
He then blackmailed her into meeting him. She first met him during school half term. The first offence of rape took place the next day – she was told to go to his home.
Chambers was waiting behind the door, not revealing his face to her. He then raped her. On two more occasions the girl was blackmailed into going to his home where she was raped.
The girl eventually confided in a friend and the police became involved.
Chambers was arrested, but denied ever contacting or meeting the girl. He was linked to a Blackberry used to contact the girl and the girl’s DNA was found on his bedding.
Mr Cooper revealed the girl said: “She felt personally ashamed of the stress brought on her parents. She found herself feeling cheap and dirty.”
Errol Ballentyne, defending, said: “He’s realised there is no sensible explanation for what he did – it was wrong and he shouldn’t have done it. The defendant didn’t, in fact, record any images.”

Pervert pleads guilty to grooming and raping schoolgirl
A MAN who raped a 15-year-old girl after allegedly threatening to post naked photographs of her has been remanded for reports by a judge.
Cameron Chambers, 23, “groomed” the girl over an internet messaging service by pretending to be another 15-year-old, claimed Peter Cooper, prosecuting at Stafford Crown Court.
He told the court that the Crown would open the case against Chambers on the basis that the defendant raped the girl three times on three different days.
There was “extensive grooming” of the victim by Chambers and “sexual activities into which he subsequently coerced her by threatening to publish naked photographs of her,” said Mr Cooper.
Chambers, of Church Hill Street, Burton, admitted raping the girl on February 21 this year and a further two offences of rape on February 26 and March 3.
Darron Whitehead, defending, said Chambers had been on bail since his arrest on March 13 and asked the court for it to be extended until his client appeared again for sentence.
Judge Paul Glenn remanded Chambers on bail.
He told him: “I’ll adjourn for a pre-sentence report before you are sentenced on September 19.
“The report is intended to address your background and the issue of dangerousness.
“The type of sentence is inevitable in this case and no doubt you have been advised already.
“You have attended court each time and I am trusting you to return again.”
The judge made it a condition of the defendant’s bail that he resided at his home address.
He was also ordered to register with the police as a sex offender as soon as he left court.
