Child abuse images man court date

Westbury man David Crichton is to face trial by jury in connection with images of child pornography.

The 48-year-old is accused of making and possessing indecent images of children which were found on computer discs.

Crichton, of Fell Road, has pleaded not guilty to all of the charges and will stand trial at Swindon Crown Court in the new year.

He was the first man in west Wiltshire to be arrested and charged under Operation Ore, part of the international crackdown on internet paedophilia.

Five charges of possessing indecent pictures relate to the day of the raid in Westbury. The other seven, surrounding the making or downloading of indecent pictures, are alleged to have taken place in Warminster between June and October 2001

The charges of possessing the images relate to the day he was arrested. Those of making the images cover a period in mid 2001. Crichton was released on unconditional bail and the case was adjourned for a trial in January.
