‘Danger’ teen jailed for sex attack on 8 yr old girl
A “DANGEROUS” Black Country teenager who carried out a sex attack on an eight-year-old girl just days after his release from prison for sexual offences has been put back behind bars for 32 months.
Thomas Deans, 19, was staying at the approved premises in Stonnall Road, Aldridge, Walsall, when he groped the school girl while she walked her dog last August.
Judge Jonathan Gosling at Wolverhampton Crown Court told 19-year-old Thomas Deans it was clear he had followed the girl with sexual thoughts in his mind and he had been unable to “resist the urge” to carry out the attack. He said reports described Deans as a “predator” and added: “In my view you were looking for a victim that afternoon. You clearly have strong urges you cannot control.”
The Judge said Deans, who had had fantasies about raping a young girl, posed a serious risk of causing sexual harm in the future.
Deans followed the girl as she was out walking her dog with a friend in Walsall and he carried out the attack in broad daylight despite the fact there was an adult nearby.
Deans, now of no fixed address, admitted sexual assault and he was further banned by the Judge from working with children for life and also ordered to register for life as a Sex Offender.
Michael Anning, defending, maintained Deans had not deliberately targeted the girl and said drink had played a big part in the offence. He said that after his arrest Deans admitted: “I dodn’t know what triggers it. I want to address it,” and he had accepted he needed help.
