Pervert who repeatedly flashed to 14 year old schoolgirl spared jail
A MUM whose 14-year-old daughter was terrorised by a flasher is furious after he was spared jail.
Bryan Sears admitted exposing himself to schoolgirls from windows around his former Walney home.
The 59-year-old, now of Long Bank, Walney, was this week placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for five years.
He was also given a two-year community rehab-ilitation order and a six-month suspended prison sentence with two years supervision.
Sears had pleaded guilty to three charges of indecent exposure on different dates in July 2004, June last year and between March 1 and April 30 last year.
He had originally faced a total of 11 allegations but the prosecution accepted his guilty pleas when he appeared before the courts at an earlier hearing.
The offences involved three separate victims, a mum, her daughter and another schoolgirl.
At his previous Walney home, Sears stood naked at a back bedroom window and a downstairs window.
The traumatised mum said: “I am totally, totally disgusted. We have been through hell over this.
“He just hasn’t been punished at all and is still free to walk around as if he did nothing wrong.
“I think the sentence was a load of rubbish, he should have got more than that.”
Martin Hackett, defending, told Preston Crown Court that Sears was man of previous good character.
