Brothers’ 26-year reign of abuse

Kevin and Wayne Dewick

TWO paedophile brothers have been jailed after a 26-year reign of terror in which they attacked kids as young as FIVE.

Jobless Kevin and Wayne Dewick used toys based on hit US cartoon The Simpsons to lure innocent victims into their clutches.

The pair were convicted of abusing 13 youngsters – but police believe there may be dozens more who have never come forward.

Podgy Kevin, 48 – described in court as a “dangerous, voracious and prolific paedophile” – preyed on children after befriending their parents, who were unaware he was already a convicted child sex offender.

He had targeted kids since 1981 and was convicted in 1985 of two indecent assaults on young girls. He got probation and went on to roam his home city of Leicester with Wayne, 51, to gain the trust of families before grooming new victims.

The families were not told of Kevin’s conviction as cops and councils are banned from warning parents of nearby child sex offenders.

One mum told how scheming Kevin gave her son toys and videos to lure him into his bedsit, which he had turned into a shrine to The Simpsons. Once inside, the beast would tie up his victim before violently sexually attacking him

The mum said: “I invited the brothers into our home as they were neighbours and friends. But they were monsters in disguise.

“Kevin even spent Christmas with us – but all the time he was thinking about how he could get my son and little girl alone.”

Kevin was jailed for life after pleading guilty to 25 counts of child sex abuse, including serious sexual assault and indecency.

His brother, convicted of ten charges, got 11 years at Leicester Crown Court. The court heard he plied his victims with cannabis.
