Shocking statistics of child sex abuse

A TOTAL of 551 sex crimes against children were reported to Notts Police last year, new figures revealed.

Crimes included rape, incest and abuse of children through prostitution and pornography.

Of the victims, 106 had not reached secondary school age, and 445 sex crimes were committed against children aged from 11 to 17. There were 454 offences against girls and 97 against boys.
