Jail for child porn man, 62

A 62-YEAR-OLD found to have more than 2,500 indecent images of children on his computer has been jailed for six months.

Edward Thompson also had video footage of two naked young girls.

His home in Poppy Road, Princes Risborough was searched in 2006 afer customs officials intercepted a package addressed to him from the USA, Aylesbury Crown Court heard today.

The package contained several indecent photos and a DVD showing naked children, the court was told.

The images on his computer included three of a “level five” rating – the most explicit.

The court was told 2,557 images were found on the computer.

As well as sentencing Thompson to six months in prison Judge Seddon Cripps disqualified Thompson from working with children and placed him on the Sex Offenders Register for seven years.

He was also made the subject of a sexual offenders prevention order.

The final details of the order will be confirmed at a separate hearing on June 13.

Warwick Aleeson, defending Thompson, said: “It is fair to say Mr Thompson has been deeply affected and shamed by what he has done.

“He is fully aware of the seriousness of what he has done.

“He is willing to undertake and embark on any form of rehabilitation process.”
