A man who was caught with “distressing” child porn images on his home computer has been ordered to carry out community service.
Ronald Pearce, 41, from Clydebank, was found to have downloaded 45 images and two video clips from the internet.
Police officers raided the home of Pearce’s parents, where he lived, as part of Operation Ore – the police probe into online child pornography.
Pearce, who appeared at Paisley Sheriff Court, was also put on probation.
Depute fiscal Kenneth Grieve told the court how the images “left nothing to the imagination” and featured “very, very graphic images” of adults with young children.
He said Pearce confessed to police officers when they arrived at the home of his parents in April last year to seize his computer equipment.
After studying background reports, Sheriff George Kavanagh placed Pearce’s name on the Sex Offenders’ Register, put him on probation for 12 months and ordered him to carry out 100 hours of community service.
