Drunk child rapist jailed for six years

A man who admitted raping a 12-year-old girl while drunk has been jailed for six years.

Joseph Covell, 31, of Boothtown, Halifax, was also placed on the Sex Offender’s Register.

Bradford Crown Court heard how the father-of-three was drunk when he attacked the girl last year.

Judge Roger Scott said the difference in age between Covell and his victim was an aggravating feature of the case.
