A man who breached a court order and had more than 150 indecent images of children on his phone has been jailed for nearly two years.
Robert Elcombe, 58, broke a Sexual Offences Prevention Order by having an internet-enabled handset, Plymouth Crown Court was told.
He also had 156 images of child pornography on the phone.
Elcombe, of no fixed address, was caught shoplifting and with craft knife blades in his possession on two occasions in the city centre.
Judge Paul Dunkels jailed him for a total of 21 months for a total of nine offences.
Elcombe admitted theft of a shirt, breach of the order, possession of a bladed article and five counts of possession of indecent images of children on June 10. He also pleaded guilty to possessing a bladed article on June 14.
Elcombe was convicted at Plymouth Crown Court in 2008 of having about 250,000 indecent images of children. He was given a suspended prison sentence and also made subject to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order.
It prevents him from having any computer, mobile phone or camera capable of taking pictures or downloading images from the internet.
Ali Rafati, defending, said Elcombe had been depressed at the time. He added that the one positive sign was that Elcombe was facing up to his sexual offending.
