Lancashire paedophile who made victim watch videos of men raping children jailed

A paedophile who made one of his victims watch a video of older men raping children has been jailed.

David Gardner, 65 was jailed for 11 years for abuse he committed between 2000 and 2010.

Gardner, of Skelmersdale, was also put on the Sex Offender’s Register for life, after being convicted of sexually abusing a boy and a girl who were aged between 10 and 13 at the time.

Although the victims were too young to fully understand what the defendant was doing to them, one did question his actions but in response, Gardner said it was “all just fun”.

He also made one of his victims watch videos of older men raping children.

When Gardner was arrested, officers seized his electronic devices and found thousands of indecent images of children, as well as extreme pornography.

Gardner, of Alderley, Skelmersdale, pleaded guilty to sexual activity with a child, causing/inciting sexual activity with a child and possessing indecent images of children.

He was sentenced at Preston Crown Court

Gary Healey – Tyldesley

July 2021

Grandad raped girl, 13, in back of his van and told her ‘not to be shy’

A twisted paedophile repeatedly raped a 13-year-old girl after grooming her and trapping her in his van.

Gary Healey, 61, from Tyldesley in Greater Manchester, attacked his victim five or six times over the course of a year.

The grandad first tried to kiss the girl when she was just 11 – before taking her home to her aunt and uncle

Prosecuting, Charlotte Johnson told Manchester Crown Court: “As time went on that progressed and moved from kissing her to holding onto her head whilst he kissed her on the mouth until when she was about 12 and at that stage he told her to get into the rear of the van – she was frightened and obliged.”

Healey ordered the girl to sit on a box in the back of the van before removing his trousers and underpants, it was said.

He then told her to stand up and take off her pants and said if she didn’t “he would do it for her”.

The girl was “silent, scared and feeling sick” as he touched her chest.

Healey then raped his victim and “told her she liked it” and “not to be shy”.

After the girl turned 14, Healey tried to sexually assault her but she resisted.

When he asked her to carry on, she said no and he told her: “Well, you like it”.

He continued to pester her, saying: “You won’t even let me kiss you on the cheek, I love you to pieces, I’ll never hurt you.”

The horrifying offences came to light after the girl discussed them with her friends.

Healey was convicted of sexual assault and rape and jailed for 14 years, and must serve nine years and four months before he can be released on licence.

He was also made subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for 15 years and must sign onto the Sex Offender’s Register indefinitely.

Sentencing him, Judge Rachel Smith said: “During the trial, the court was played a recording of you and the true nature in which you spoke to her. You were domineering and coercive.

‘Predatory and manipulative’ paedophile caged for 13-month campaign of rape and abuse

A “predatory and manipulative” paedophile is behind bars for his 13-month campaign of abuse against a very young child

Ricky Andrew Clench denied a string of child sex offences, including raping a child under 13.

The 41-year-old stood trial at Teesside Crown Court as the jury found him guilty of all three of the charges.

Clench’s reign of abuse started in August 2017 when he lived in the Northallerton area and continued until September 2018, when the victim bravely came forward and reported his offences to the police.

Clench denied the offences and maintained his innocence throughout the investigation and court hearings.

The Harrogate man was later found guilty of raping a child under 13, assaulting a child under 13 and of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

He was remanded into custody and appeared at the Middlesbrough court for sentencing on Wednesday

Judge Paul Watson QC jailed Clench for 15-years for the series of child sexual offences.

He was also issued with an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and was placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.

Leslie Marrs – Liverpool

Pervert pensioner slashes his neck in dock seconds after he’s sentenced in court

A pervert pensioner that sexually assaulted a teenage girl has slashed his neck in the dock just seconds after being sentenced.

Leslie Marrs, 76, used a craft blade to cut the right side of his neck in court.

The incident happened after Judge Stuart Driver, QC, had warned the dock officer about the pensioner, who had previously told probation “he would commit suicide before he reached prison”

The judge added: “He needs to be handled with particular care today.”

Just seconds later, Marrs took the blade from his suit and slashed his neck twice.

The dock officer then removed the weapon and called for assistant for the defendant.

Meanwhile, most people who were in the court were asked to leave.

Security staff arrived to administer first aid and paramedics and an ambulance rushed to Liverpool Crown Court to attend to him in the cells.

Marrs, of Dunkeld Close, Kensington, Liverpool, had just been sentenced to 32 months imprisonment after admitting sexual assault and ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life.

Anya Horwood, prosecuting, had told the court that the incident came to light when the victim, who was in her mid-teens, confided in her youth worker that some months earlier she had been sexually assaulted by Marrs who had also previously made inappropriate remarks.

When interviewed Marrs claimed that they had been discussing pubic hair and “in that context touched her vaginal area.”

A photograph of his penis was found on his mobile phone and he admitted the girl, who was vulnerable, might have seen it but he had not shown it to her.

In an impact statement, the victim’s mum told how the girl had suffered nightmares and self-harmed after the assault and had displayed out-of-character challenging behaviour.

She said she realised now that Marrs had been grooming her daughter, saying: “I believe he knew exactly what he was doing.”

Sentencing Marrs, the judge said that the former soldier had caused “significant psychological harm” to his victim and described her mum’s statement as moving.

After Marr sliced his neck the court was closed for a while to allow for it to be thoroughly cleaned.

Marrs was taken to hospital for treatment and no injuries were sustained to officers during the incident.
