Perevrt sentenced after grooming ‘child’ online

A paedophile that sent sexually explicit messages and images to 100’s of young girls online has been jailed.

Andrew Groombridge of Isle of Sheppey, Kent appeared at Canterbury Crown Court where he admitted:

• Causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity

• Sexual communication with a child aged under 13

The court was told that Groombridge had contacted the online profile of someone that he believed was a 12-year-old girl

Groomfield sent sexually explicit chat and images with the clear intent of grooming the child for sexual activity.

His first message was “show me your boobs”.

In another message, he told her to, “do as your fucking told”, and in another message, he said, “I want to put my dick in your tight pussy”

Groomfield was described as pressurising, bullying and demanding towards girls he had messaged

The girl was infact an undercover police officer and Groomfield was tracked down. He was arrested in his bedroom and all his electronic devices were confiscated.

During police interview, Groomfield made a number admissions which included, sending videos of himself masterbating and ejaculating to young girls

He admitted that he had contacted and sent pictures and videos of his penis to 100’s of underage girls online

He also told the girls that he wanted to watch them inserting objects into themselves 

Groomfield admitted that he wanted to rape the 12-year-old girl to fulfill his own sexual gratification. He told the officer that he knew he had a problem, but simply could not stop himself

The judge told Groomfield that he was a dangerous sexual predator and handed him a total sentence of eight years

A sexual harm prevention order was imposed for an indefinite period

He was told to register as a sex offender for life
