Paedophile Rotherham tram driver watched sick videos of young girls being tied up
A paedophile tram driver caught with thousands of indecent images watched child sexual abuse to satisfy his ever-growing sexual desires.
Liam Sanderson told police he had become “curious” and downloaded videos of girls as young as six being tied up and abused.
The 29-year-old had already admitted three counts of making indecent images of children during a hearing at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court in December.
As he was sentenced at the city’s crown court, Judge David Dixon heard Sanderson, of Shawsfield Road, Rotherham, had lost his job as a tram driver for Stagecoach and suffered a breakdown in a relationship.
Prosecutor Nicola Quinney told the court Sanderson admitted his offending during a police interview when he was arrested in February 2019 stating that he accepted he gained sexual gratification but felt remorse.
When police checked over several devices, they found 34 category A images – the most serious, 68 category B images and a shocking 2,676 category C.
Sanderson lost the job he loved as a tram driver when colleagues spotted his offending in a local newspaper and flagged it up to his employers.
He later resigned.
Judge Dixon sentenced Sanderson to 16 months’ imprisonment, suspended for two years
