Vile paedophile jailed after planning to rape girl aged 8

A vile depraved pervert has been jailed for more than five years after planning to abuse a young girl while her uncle watched.

Sick Simon Leonard Mewse, 36, made a two-hour journey to meet the pair with condoms in his car, but was snared by undercover police, prosecutors said.

The twisted pervert — whose own father was recently jailed for child sex offences — had sent videos of children as young as three being abused to the ‘uncle’ via online chat apps.

He had arranged the seedy sexual trysts on two separate apps after chatting to what he thought were fellow perverts — but were in fact undercover police officers.

One of the cops, posing as a pervy uncle, offered to meet Mewse so he could have sex with the decoy’s eight-year-old ‘niece’, York crown court heard.

He offered to meet Mewse at a secluded spot near Selby, North Yorkshire, where the DJ could sexually abuse the ‘girl’, prosecutor Dan Cordey told the court.

Mewse — a DJ who goes by the stage name of Vinylizer — drove out to the Skipton Common nature reserve, two hours from his home in Hull, for the hook-up.

The ‘uncle’ said he would bring a van with a mattress in the back and Mewse told him he was looking forward to having sex with the girl.

The meeting was arranged for 10am on July 10 and Mewse turned up in a Vauxhall Corsa.

The court heard that he had a pack of condoms, a bag of cannabis and a tent inside his car.

However, he was met by police officers who arrested him at the scene.

During the debauched chats on the Kik Messenger app over a nine-day period in July, the ‘uncle’ told Mewse he had sexually abused his eight-year-old niece.

Mewse, who used a sleazy profile name, sent the decoy officer a flurry of indecent images, including videos of young children being subjected to sexual abuse.

Mr Cordey told the court: ‘On July 7, Mewse changed his profile to ‘You and Your Daughter’ and told the undercover officer he wanted to do stuff to his ‘niece’, saying he was mainly into teens and younger, and saying he wanted to have sex with the ‘girl’.

‘Arrangements were made between the undercover officer and the defendant to meet up, together with the niece.

‘Mewse told the “uncle” he wanted someone to join in.’

Before his arrest, Mewse had been chatting online with another undercover officer who was posing as a father-of-two with similarly vile sexual predilections as the DJ.

Mewse asked the ‘father’ whether his 10-year-old ‘daughter’ had had sex before and said that ‘10 would probably be the youngest he would go’.

The court heard that he sent the ‘father’ indecent images of children, including four videos rated Category A — the worst category.

He admitted two counts of intentionally arranging the commission of a child sex offence between July 2 and 11 and attempting to meet a girl for sex between June 30 and July 10.

He also admitted distributing indecent images of children, including 16 lurid videos he sent to the undercover officer posing as the ‘uncle’.

The images featured sickening sex scenes involving adults and children aged between 3 and 8. One of the videos showed a man raping a child.

Mewse, who also pleaded guilty to possessing a Class B drug, appeared for sentence via video link yesterday after being remanded in HMP Hull.

Judge Simon Hickey described Mewse’s offences as ‘shocking’ and said his father’s conviction ‘should have warned you off completely from these sorts of offences.’

He said that in the case of the young ‘niece’, Mewse had ‘effectively’ talked of raping her.

The judge said: ‘As far as you were aware, this was a real, vulnerable and abused child.

‘I don’t accept that you wouldn’t have gone through with it. You clearly attended the meeting point to abuse this “child”.’

Mewse was jailed for five years and three months.

He will have to serve an extended two-year period on licence after his release as the judge deemed him to be at ‘high risk’ of committing further offences.

Mewse was also placed on the sex offenders’ register for life and made subject to a sexual-harm prevention order.

Hull DJ facing jail after trying to meet eight-year-old girl for sex

A Hull DJ who tried to meet an eight-year-old girl for sex is facing a lengthy prison sentence.

Simon Leonard Mewse, 36, who is also known as DJ Vinylizer, contacted a girl, believed to be eight years old, to meet for sex in a village near Selby.

He admitted another charge which involved attempting to meet with a girl – again in the Selby area – with the intention to commit a sexual offence

Mewse, of Cowslip Chase, Kirk Ella, appeared at York Crown Court via video link when he also pleaded guilty to distributing indecent images of children and possessing cannabis.

He admitted two counts of intentionally arranging to meet an eight-year-old girl for sex between July 2 and 11, as well as attempting to arrange to commit a child sex offence between June 30 and July 10.

Mewse also pleaded guilty to distributing or showing indecent images of children, including eight images or videos rated Category A – the most serious.

He was caught with the cannabis in the Selby area on July 10 and admitted possessing a Class B drug.

Judge Sean Morris adjourned sentence for four weeks but warned Mewse: “I’m ordering a pre-sentence report which will go (towards) the length and nature of the custodial sentence that you are inevitably going to serve and to address dangerousness.”

Mewse will remain in custody until the sentence hearing on September 9.
