A pervert has been jailed after he was caught in a paedophile hunter sting investigation
Jose Goncalves (31) of Jersey appeared in court where he was sentenced for the attempted meet of a child following online sexual grooming
The court heard that Goncalves had contacted the online profile of who he believed belonged to a 13 year old girl
Jose sent sexually explicit chat to the girl, with the clear intent of engaging the child into sexual activity. Throughout the chat, the pervert attempted to incite the child into sexual acts, by ‘coaching’ her on masturbation.
However, the child did not exist, and was in-fact a adult female paedophile hunter called Cheyenne O’Connor who poses online as a child to catch sexual predators who prey on children
As a direct result of her evidence, the 25-year-old has helped police to bring 13 male sexual offenders to justice in Jersey and three in the UK.. Four other cases are currently going through the court system.
The judge handed Goncalves a 10 month prison sentence
He was told that he must register as a sex offender for a period of five years and a five year restraining order was also imposed
