Taunton man jailed for two years over sex offences

A Somerset man has been jailed for two years after being found guilty of sex offences.

Lee Varndell, of Musgrove Road, Taunton, was sentenced at Taunton Crown Court on Monday (July 24) after being convicted at a previous hearing.

He was found guilty on two counts of sexually assaulting a male, and two counts of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child.

Varndell was jailed for two years by Judge David Ticehurst, and was ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register for life.

A sexual harm prevention order was also imposed by the court.

Should the 35-year-old breach this order following his release, he could face up to five years’ imprisonment.
