Lee Downie, 31, of Soberton Road, Havant, was given a 150 -day term suspended for a year after admitting installing equipment to watch a private act on November 13 last year.
Portsmouth magistrates imposed the sentence as Downie put the equipment in his victim’s home.
He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £80 and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
