Notorious child rapist leaves England & returns to Ireland

ward

Notorious child rapist Danny Ward has returned to Ireland after fleeing to England during the summer following a series of incidents in which he was targeted.

Ward (35) was the subject of a number of vigilante attacks before making the decision to flee the country in August.

At the time he informed gardai he was leaving the country who in turn informed UK authorities he was intending to reside there for some time.

He was spotted by a member of the public who took pictures of him aboard the Dublin to Holyhead ferry.

Back in Ireland his movements are now being monitored at a secret location by gardai and the probation services.

Ward had been attacked by vigilante groups a number of times in the months prior to leaving the country, and has had to be moved several times and protected by gardaí.

In July he was chased and allegedly beaten by a group in Dún Laoghaire. It was reported that he was sleeping rough in the area at the time.

Ward was set upon in Dun Laoghaire Garda Station. A man who has appeared in a video of the incident allegedly punching and kicking the sex offender has been arrested by appointment.

Before that he was ran out of accommodation in north Dublin and Ringsend by angry locals.

Ward had been drinking in a local pub when he was spotted by a man who recognised him from previous media coverage. Ward was said to be “knocking back pints at the time”.

It is understood that the man who spotted him called a few of his associates and Ward left the pub, but by this stage the other individuals arrived at the scene and Ward “suffered a few thumps”.

He then travelled to Wicklow Town hoping to go unnoticed but after he was spotted in the town gardai bundled him into a garda car and took him out of the area in fear a vigilante mob would attack him.

Since his return to Ireland in recent weeks the 6ft 2in man has been under the supervision of the Probation Service and Gardai under its Offender Risk Assessment and Management Scheme ( SORAM).

Under the scheme he has to make his whereabouts known to gardai.

Child rapist flees Ireland on UK bound ferry to escape vigilantes

danny

This is notorious child rapist Danny Ward leaving Ireland as he tries to escape the vigilante gangs hunting him down.

The thug was spotted boarding a ferry from Dublin to Holyhead in Wales as he slipped into the UK.

During the trip across the Irish Sea, the 6ft 3in pervert was spotted drinking a pint at 9am as he peered into a children’s cinema.

He also made several trips to the toilets, covering his head with a trademark cap while also using his left hand to shield his face.

And while the 35-year-old bearded brute made the crossing unscathed, he was snapped a number of times as he wandered up and down the decks, downing more booze.

Unsuspecting parents walked around the ferry, unaware they were within feet of an evil monster.

And children played freely near the bars as Ward kept a low profile, dressed in a green baseball cap, grey hoodie, tracksuit bottoms and black coat.

A furious Irish parent, who lives in the UK, told the Irish Mirror how he had to hold himself back from attacking the infamous sex beast.

The dad of two, who does not want to be identified, said: “There is nothing more I would liked to have done than to box him in the face.

“I hate violence and I don’t fight. But when it comes to my kids, it’s something completely different.

“He was stood outside the kids’ cinema with a drink in his hands looking in for a long time.

“He was walking around the place but was holding his hand to his face. But I knew who he was.

“I know he’s done his time and all and that he’s a human but everyone needs to know where this guy is and what he is doing.”

Ward was placed on the sex offenders’ register for life after being convicted of a horrific child rape.

However, we cannot publish any details of his conviction or sentence for legal reasons and to protect the identity of his young victim.

On a packed 8.45am Irish Ferries Swift sailing on Tuesday, our source watched as cagey Ward waited for everyone to get off the ferry before he made his own exit, reducing the chance of him being recognised by other passengers.

Travelling alone, he was seen texting on his mobile phone and also used an ATM before stepping off the boat.

The furious dad who spoke to us added that, while he did not say anything to Ward, he couldn’t resist letting him know he had spotted him.

He said: “It was getting close to the end of the journey and I had been biting my tongue so I just stared him out of it a couple of times as if to say, ‘I know what you are you animal’.

“I was happy I kept my cool. I also told other parents at the bar to watch their children. I was happy with how I handled it.” Ward is understood to be heading to London to start a new life.

Security sources confirmed to the Irish Mirror he told gardai of his intention to leave the jurisdiction and they contacted UK police to let them know he was on his way there.

Last year, we revealed Ward had been released from prison and was seen lurking around a national school on Dublin’s northside.

In recent months, he has been targeted by a number of vigilante groups in Ringsend and Dun Laoghaire.

Ward was attacked in a Garda station in Dun Laoghaire two weeks ago as he signed on at the South Dublin station.

The shocking video was uploaded online, where it was shared widely. We also previously revealed Ward was advised to move to the UK if he wanted any chance of a peaceful life.

He travelled to Wicklow in the hope he would go under the radar.

While there he tried to check himself into a local homeless shelter but was refused as it only accepts people from Wicklow town.

Word quickly spread that the settled Traveller was in the area and hanging around the town.

A short time later, he was bundled into a Garda car and driven back to Dublin.

Officers feared for Ward’s safety and decided to act in case locals got to him first.

How we broke news sicko was back on our streets

Danny Ward in Dublin city centre

The Mirror was the first to tell you dangerous Ward was back on the streets.

Last October, we exposed the pervert lurking around primary schools in Dublin.

At the time, he had settled into a B&B in the north of the city.

Gardai were forced to put a patrol car outside a girls’ school in Glasnevin each day because he was spotted acting suspiciously in the area.

Officers gave him a formal warning and notices were sent to stations across Dublin about him.

Our reporter tracked Ward down to his flat and watched as he walked through the city without a care in the world.

But when we approached him outside the city council offices on Wood Quay, he refused to say why he had been standing outside schools.

He shouted, “Go away sir” at our team when we asked him to explain why gardai were concerned about him.

The Traveller, who has been shunned by his own community, then turned and raced from the area.

He dropped a cannabis grinder and energy drink as he fled.

A senior member of the Traveller community warned about the dangers he poses.

He said: “Danny is not the smartest person and would have a low IQ.

“I firmly believe he should be supervised for his own safety and, more importantly, the safety of others.

“He should never be permitted to roam freely around a city like this.”

Police are on high alert after a dangerous child rapist was spotted lurking around primary schools.

Paedophile Danny Ward, 34, who served a prison term for a horrific sex attack, has settled into a B&B in North Dublin.

Police have become concerned about his activities in recent weeks and have been forced to put a patrol car outside a girls’ school each day because he has been spotted acting suspiciously in the area.

A senior source said: “This man poses an ongoing threat to young children and his activities have caused great concern to senior officers.”

Police are expected to give a formal warning to the 6ft 3ins sexual predator and notices have been sent to stations across Dublin about him.

But when approached he refused to say why he had been standing outside schools and shouted “Go away sir”.

The Traveller, who has been shunned by his own community, then turned and raced from the area – dropping a cannabis grinder and energy drink as he fled.

Officers have been ordered to “stop, search and collate” all information about him at all times.

The Irish Mirror tracked Ward down to his flat this week and watched as he walked through the city without a care in the world.

Dressed in a blue Leinster hat, dark jacket and blue tracksuit bottoms the bearded thug chatted with a pal as they strolled along the quays.

The senior source added: “Parents and teachers at the school spotted him outside the premises a number of weeks ago and they became concerned.

“They contacted police when he was spotted leering in the window while young girls were doing Irish dancing.

“Officers approached him and asked him what he was doing but he insisted he was just going to a nearby church.

“Senior officers are so concerned with this loitering they have sent a patrol car to sit outside the school each day as children leave in the evening.”

Councillor Noel Rock has warned locals to be cautious and called for greater resources to be pumped into monitoring sex offenders like Ward.

He added: “I was stunned to learn of this.

“The man in question has a history of violent sexual crime against a child and it is absolutely vital gardai monitor him closely.

“I am genuinely concerned about his behaviour and the threat he poses, as will be any parent reading this.

“Putting a Garda car outside the school is helpful and I would call on the gardai to continue this.

“They should also work to urgently inform local parents in the area as it is hugely important they are vigilant.

“I cannot stand idly by while a known sexual predator is acting in a highly unusual fashion in our area without informing local parents as to the threat, so I commend the newspaper for doing this and I will be working to do the same.

“I would like to see every avenue pursued in keeping this man away from this school and, indeed, all schools.

“This includes issuing an anti-social behaviour order.

“Prevention is better than cure and given his history of violent sexual crime there is no such thing as being too careful.”
