A ‘reprehensible’ former junior school teacher from Lincolnshire has been jailed for sex offences against two young girls.

Kevin Christie, 40, of Immingham, was imprisoned for a year at Preston Crown Court yesterday having previously pleaded guilty to inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and one count of possession of an indecent image of a child.

Christie was also ordered to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for a period of ten years, and was given a Sexual Offences Prevention Order until further order.

Neither of Christie’s offences relate to any child at Baines Endowed Primary School in Blackpool, where Christie taught, and there is no suggestion Christie abused or acted inappropriately toward any child at the school, police say.

The first offence took place on Wednesday January 18 last year when Christie incited a 13-year-old girl via Blackberry Messenger to engage in sexual activity.

The second offence was then discovered when Christie was arrested on suspicion of the first offence on Sunday March 3 this year and officers found an indecent image of a 14-year-old girl following analysis of Christie’s mobile phone.
