Jailed for three rapes

Evil sex beast Christopher Wray was today behind bars for raping a THIRD victim.

Perverted Wray, aged 40, targeted his third victim shortly after being released from prison for raping a 17-year-old girl in Sheffield in 1994.

In a further sickening twist, it was also revealed that he attempted to rape another girl when he was just 16.

But yesterday he was jailed for life after being found guilty of three counts of rape and a sexual assault.

In his summing up judge Trevor Barber said: “There is every likelihood you would commit rape again.

“You are a danger to women and what is no exaggeration to me is that the danger would include taking a woman’s life.” During the week-long trial, a jury of eight men and four women heard how Wray targeted his final victim because she was ‘vulnerable’.

When describing the violent sex attacks, the victim told the court: “I felt disgusted, I felt dirty. It’s my body – I never asked for that.” The Rotherham man claimed sex was consensual.

One of Wray’s other victims, who was in court to hear his fate, cheered as the jury delivered their verdict.

Prosecuting barrister Iain Hillis then told them of Wray’s murky past.

It was back in 1980 when Wray attempted to rape a 15-year-old girl at Todwick Grange Children’s Home. She was saved because a child care supervisor interrupted him. Aged just 16 at the time, he was held for six months at a detention centre.Ten years later, Wray struck again. He was jailed for three years after entering a house and raping a woman.

In Wray’s third case in 1993 he raped a 17-year-old behind the Cossack pub, Howard Street, Sheffield.

Wray viciously raped her while ordering her boyfriend to lie face down on the floor.

He was jailed for 20 years.

But he was released early on licence and it was then that he raped a 29-year-old in Rotherham earlier this year.

Speaking after the case, DC Andy Eshelby said: “We are dealing with an extremely dangerous predator. He has devastated the lives of his victims.”
