Pervert had child abuse images

A MAN found guilty of buying child porn images on the internet walked free from a court yesterday.

Conor Molloy, 26, from Ballinasloe, Co Galway, used his credit card to buy the porn from an American website.

The electrician was handed a suspended six-month sentence and fined EUR1,500 at Galway District Court.

Imposing the suspended sentence, Judge John Garavan said that he believed Molloy had paedophile tendencies.

Molloy was arrested as part of Operation Amethyst, the nation-wide Garda clampdown on child porn.

It took place with a series of dawn raids on private houses and business premises last May.
