Sex offender jailed for 21 months

A 46-year-old man has been jailed for 21 months for sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl he grabbed and forced to go back to his flat in Norfolk.

Alan Hitchen of Meale Way, Stalham, admitted the offence when he appeared at Norwich Crown Court.

He had attempted to molest and kiss the teenager but she pushed him away.

Judge Simon Barham told Hitchen he was a high risk to children and said: “This ordeal must have been distressing and frightening for the girl.”

Hitchen was told he must never work with children.

He was put on the sex offenders register and given a sex offenders prevention order for 10 years.

He was told he must not be in the company of any child under 16 without an appropriate adult present.

The court was told he had previous convictions for indecent assaults on young girls.
