A PERVERT heading the Open Universitys student union has quit after being exposed by The Sun.
Bearded John Orchard, 48, hid his vile past when he was voted into the job of safeguarding the welfare of the OUs 180,000 students in April.
The OU and its members were unaware Orchard, who was on the Sex Offenders Register, was jailed for six months in 2001 for indecently assaulting a schoolboy.
It left the 13-year-old so traumatised he killed himself under a train.
The victims brother, who asked not to be named, told The Sun: Orchard is calculating, manipulative, deceitful and violent.
The university confirmed last night that Orchard, of Southampton, had resigned.
