A man who exposed his private parts to two schoolgirls argued with a judge at Worcester Crown Court as he was being jailed.
Darren Mahoney, who had befriended four girls and invited them back to his flat, committed the offence after being teased.
He pulled down his trousers in a bedroom when girls aged 14 and 15 were present and made a sexual remark, said Susan Cliff, prosecuting.
Judge Andrew Geddes said the case was so serious that only a custodial sentence was appropriate.
But 35-year-old Mahoney, of Rockhill, Bromsgrove, shouted from the dock: “I don’t believe this. You’re joking. I’ll lose my job.”
The judge ordered him to be quiet and then jailed him for nine months.
He said Mahoney had encouraged the girls’ visits and they had to be protected.
The defendant was also banned from working with children for life and must sign the sex offenders’ register for ten years.
The father-of-three, who pleaded guilty to exposure, had all four girls – aged between 15 and 12 – at his home when he committed the offence in June last year.
One girl was upset by the incident and another thought it funny at first, but then conceded it was “really bad,” said Mrs Cliff.
Mahoney told police he had sexual feelings for two of the girls, whom he thought were older than their true ages.
Abigail Nixon, defending, said the girls were “not angels” and had gone to the flat to smoke.
It took six months for the offence to be reported. It was revealed after a dispute between Mahoney and a neighbour.
Miss Nixon said he branded sex offenders “scum” and did not accept he was in the same category.
Mahoney had 35 previous convictions, but none were for sex crimes.
